Applicant must hold a faculty appointment at the instructor or assistant professor level and have completed at least two years of research training. Award is to support new investigators working on clinical problems relevant to lung disease. Preference is given to minority applicants and applicants interested in tobacco control research.

Renewable for one additional year if recipient demonstrates satisfactory progress and funds remain available.
