Applicant must fall into one of the following categories: undergraduate student enrolled in an undergraduate biology or pre-veterinary studies program (or the equivalent); vocational or community college student working in technical or support degrees associated to the service of animals; graduate student enrolled in an animal assisted therapy graduate program; or Vet Tech program. All applicants must be enrolled full time, hold a minimum 3.5 GPA, and submit a 1,000-word essay on one of the following topics: Ways to improve the quality of life of our canine companions or what to do when you're dog is lost. One of the two awards is open to international students outside of the United States.
