John O. Crane Memorial Fellowship

Applicants must be under the age of 36 and must have strong, credible ties to American society. They must propose an independent research project that would be conducted in Eastern Europe or the Middle East and be proficient in a native language that is commonly spoken in the proposed research site. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.
