Applicant must be a North Carolina resident and a U.S. citizen. Selection is based upon GPA, class rank, standardized test scores, writing samples, community service, extracurricular activities, interview, and references.
Award is renewable for up to four years if recipient maintains academic eligibility and participation in the program.
Applicant must agree to teach in a North Carolina public school one year for each year of scholarship assistance or repay the amount at 10% interest.
