Applicant must be enrolled or accepted into an accredited California Vocational Nursing Program approved by the Board of Vocational Nurses and Psychiatric Technicians or be a licensed vocational nurse graduate who is practicing direct patient care. Selection is based upon work experience in a medically underserved area, financial need, professional goals within the next five to 10 years, community service and membership organizations, and community background.
Scholarship and loan repayment.
Award is not automatically renewable. Candidate must go through competitive process to be considered for each award, each cycle.
Two year commitment to work in a medically under-served area of California.
