Northern Virginia Urban League Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be an African-American high school senior who is graduating from an accredited public or private high school in Alexandria, Arlington, Loudon, Prince William, or Fairfax County. Applicant must have been accepted to, or have applied to an accredited college or university in the United States and plan to enroll as a full-time student in a program leading to a bachelor's degree. Minimum 2.5 GPA and demonstration of communication skills, leadership skills, and community involvement are required.

 

Max and Emmy Dreyfuss Jewish Undergraduate Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a Jewish resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, who has been accepted into an accredited four-year undergraduate program on a full-time basis. Selection is based primarily on financial need. Awards may not be used for community college or study abroad programs (including Israel).

 

Morton A. Gibson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a high school senior, who is a Jewish resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and has been accepted into an accredited four-year undergraduate program on a full-time basis. Significant volunteer services within the local Jewish community are required to be completed.

 

Home Ride Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, have attended high school in Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William Fauquier, or Arlington County, Va., and be enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours per semester). Applicant should have a minimum 3.0 Quality Credit Average (QCA) and must submit FAFSA. Selection is based upon need, merit, and good character.

 

Jewish Educational Loan

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a Jewish resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area who is enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program or vocational training program in the United States.

 

Sahm/Goldman Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a Jewish resident of the Washington, DC metropolitan area and have completed a minimum of two years of undergraduate study. Priority is given to applicants who are traveling to Israel for the first time. Selection is based upon financial need and academic merit.

 

JSSA Scholarship for Graduate Studies

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a Jewish resident under the age of 30 who is from the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and has been accepted into an accredited four-year graduate program on a full-time basis. Selection is based primarily upon financial need.

 

Celebrate Cherie Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: n/a

Applicant must be an incoming graduate student pursuing a career in physical therapy. Must be a legal resident of Northern Virginia (areas of Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties) and enrolled in a first professional doctor of physical therapy degree.
