Woodie and Mabel Best Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of a Harney County public high school. FAFSA and minimum 3.0 GPA required (2.75 for college students). U.S. Bank employees, their children, and near relatives are not eligible.

 

Anna and Dwight Gunther Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Harney County resident or a graduate of a Harney County high school who will enroll at least half time at a college or university. FAFSA and essay required.

 

Arlie Oster Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have resided in Harney County for five or more years, show a record of volunteer service to the community and enroll at least half-time in a college or university. Essay required.

 

Poteet Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Burns or Crane High School residing in Harney County, whose parents also reside in Harney County, and will attend a public or nonprofit college or university. Essay required.

 

Chandler Scholars Program

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Baker, Crook, Curry, Deschutes, Harney, Jefferson or Union county in Oregon or Del Norte County in California who will attend a public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA, essay and minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Richard and Helen Cowan Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Harney County resident who graduated from Burns or Crane Union High School within the last two years and plans to attend a public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA required.

 

Franks Foundation Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a resident of Crook, Deschutes, Grant, Harney, Jefferson, Klamath, or Lake County who will major in nursing or theology at a public or nonprofit college. FAFSA and minimum 2.5 GPA (2.0 for college students) required. U.S. Bank employees, their children, and near relatives are not eligible.

 

Patricia Hasbrouck Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a resident of Harney County who entering at least the second year of nursing studies at a public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA required.

 

Lillian McKelvey Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of Burns or Crane Union High School or a resident of Grant or Harney County who is enrolling in their second year of a registered nursing program at a public or nonprofit college or university. Essay required.

 

Southern Oregon Chapter of the American Institute of Architects Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduate of a Curry, Harney, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Lake, or Malheur County high school who will major in architecture at a four-year public or nonprofit college or university. FAFSA required.
