Illinois AMVETS Sad Sacks Nursing Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be an Illinois high school senior who has been accepted into a pre-approved nursing program or may already be a student in an approved School of Nursing in the State of Illinois. Applicant must be able to prove satisfactory in their academic record, character, interest and activity record, and financial need. Priority will be given to the dependent of a deceased or disabled veteran.

 

FNSNA Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 10

Applicant must be enrolled at a state-approved school of nursing or pre-nursing. Graduate applicant must be pursuing his or her first nursing degree. Selection is based upon academic achievement, financial need, and involvement in student nursing organizations and community service related to health care.

 

Curtis G. Hames Nursing Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student from Georgia with a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200 (minimum composite ACT score of 27) and is majoring in nursing.

 

Student Loan Program for Health, Science, & Mathematics

Award: $8,500, Deadline: February

Applicant must be a resident of North Carolina and demonstrate financial need.

 

Good Samaritan Foundation Scholarship for Nursing

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Selection is based upon applicant's financial need, aptitude, and dedication. Interview is required. Applicant must attend a Texas school.

 

Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a Kansas resident attending an eligible Kansas institution full-time. Sponsorship with a health care agency is required.

 

Medical Career Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a resident of Michigan who ranks in the top quarter of their graduating class, is planning to attend a Michigan school, and who is the child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of an American Legion member or of someone eligible to be a member. Selection is based upon academic ability, financial need, degree of interest in the area of study, and three letters of recommendation.

 

Bachelor of Science Scholarship and Loan Repayment Program

Award: $19,000, Deadline: n/a

Applicant must be enrolled or accepted in a Bachelor of Science nursing program (specific to the B.S.N. scholarship). Purpose of program is to increase the number of registered nurses (RN) practicing in medically underserved areas of California. Award is to pay tuition, necessary fees, books, supplies, and educational equipment costs for nursing; debt that was incurred while attending a baccalaureate degree nursing program. Recipient must be willing to practice in California as a RN providing full-time (32 hours per week) direct patient care.

 

Elizabeth J. Davis Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont who will pursue a degree in licensed practical nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, registered nursing, speech language pathology, or social work at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need and intent to work in Vermont for two years must be demonstrated.

 

Marion A. and Eva S. Peeples Foundation Trust Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Indiana, demonstrate academic achievement and financial need. Recommendations required, preference is give to applicants from Johnson County, Indiana.

 

Graduate Nursing Loan Forgiveness

Award: $7,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Tennessee resident and United States citizen who is a graduate student accepted for enrollment at an eligible Tennessee post-secondary institution in a program leading to a master's or post-master's degree in nursing education. Applicant must hold an unencumbered Tennessee Registered Nurse License.

 

Commonwealth of Virginia Nurse Educator Scholarship Program

Award: $20,000, Deadline: July 31

Applicant must be accepted as a full-/part-time student in a school of nursing program.

 

Mary B. Rhodes Medical Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a medical student who is the child of an international missionary and plans to go into international missions. Applicants majoring in nursing, dentistry, or pharmacy will also be considered.

 

Nursing Education Loan

Applicant must be enrolled in six credits per semester.

 

Vermont State Grange Alice Cossingham Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont pursuing a degree in nursing at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Academic achievement, financial need and community service must be demonstrated.

 

MLN Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: October 25

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be a Missouri resident.

 

Suburban Hospital Casey Scholarships

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 30; April 30

Applicant must be a current employee who is enrolled in a nursing or allied health (e.g. radiology technology, respiratory therapy, medical technology, physical therapy, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy, or physician assistant) undergraduate program or a non-employee who is enrolled in a nursing program leading to a B.S.N. or higher. Minimum 2.5 GPA, two letters of recommendation, transcript, and letter of acceptance/good standing required. Award requires a work commitment at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD, upon completion of degree program.

 

Nursing Scholarship

Applicant must rank in the top quarter of class and must have a minimum combined SAT score of 1180 (composite ACT score of 26).

 

Medical Field Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a student pursuing a profession in the medical field who is sponsored by a local American Legion Auxiliary unit.

 

Nursing Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 15

Applicant must be a Connecticut resident studying at a Connecticut nursing school.

 

Islamic Development Bank Loan Program

Award: $15,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is under the age of 24 and has confirmed admission into a professional degree program. Applicant must be majoring in one of the following areas of study: agriculture, dentistry, economics, engineering, food technology, forestry/fishery, media, medical technology, medicine, nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, political science, social science, or veterinary medicine. High academic achievement and financial need are required. Recipient must not be in receipt of any other loan.

 

Past President's Parley Nurses Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Arizona for at least one year, and attending an accredited school in Arizona. Preference is given to an immediate family member of a veteran. Photograph, personal statement, three letters of reference, and transcripts of nursing grades are required to be submitted. Selection is based upon character, scholarship, financial need, and initiative.

 

Memorial Education Fellowship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Specified fields of study change each year. Applicant must be a woman maintaining a legal residence in Massachusetts for at least five years and must be sponsored by the president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Massachusetts club in her community of legal residence. Applicant must also submit letter of reference, personal letter, and transcript. Interview is required. SASE required.

 

San Joaquin Medical Society Scholarship Loan

Award: $10,000, Deadline: December 1; June 1

Applicant must be a resident of Amador, San Joaquin, or Calaveras Counties, CA. Applicant must be in an approved M.D. or R.N. program.

 

J. Hugh and Earle W. Fellows Memorial Fund

Award: $120,000, Deadline: Rolling

Applicant must be a permanent resident of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, or Walton County, FL, be of good moral character, and qualified scholastically and intellectually. Ministry majors must be associated with the Episcopal church or a faith whose religious beliefs are not in substantial conflict with the Episcopal church. Recipient must have been accepted by or be successfully pursuing training at an accredited college or university in the appropriate field of study.

 

Minnesota State Loan Repayment Program

Iris & Roger Wilkins Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be a Ventura County resident, enrolling at a public college, university or community college in California, who pursue an RN degree and demonstrate financial need.

 

Charles Schuler Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be a graduate of a Ventura County high school, be a single parent, and plan to major in nursing, medical or education fields.

 

Jean Andrews Nursing Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Addison County in Vermont who will pursue a degree in registered nursing or nursing education at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Helen J. Switzer Nursing Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Windham County, VT who will enroll in a nursing program (LPN, AS, RN, BSN) at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need must be demonstrated.
