Lee S. Evans Scholarship

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students. They must have completed at least one semester of college coursework at the time of applying for the scholarship and must have at least one year remaining in their programs of study at the time of award disbursement; fifth-year seniors are ineligible. Applicants must have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the residential construction industry. Preference will be given to current student members of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and to applicants who are enrolled in a four-year degree program that focuses on construction management. Selection is based on academic merit, recommendations, extracurricular activities, work experience and financial need.

 

University of Washington, Seattle - State Need Grant (SNG)

The State Need Grant (SNG) program helps the state's lowest-income undergraduate students pursue degrees, hone skills, or retrain for new careers. To be eligible an applicant must be a permanent legal resident of Washington; be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen; have applied for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); not be in default of any federal or state student loans; be enrolled in at least one class; and demonstrate financial aid need. Grants range from $964 to $10,344.

 

Beef Industry Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: December 19

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or college undergraduates, and they must have plans to be enrolled full-time in a two-year or four-year undergraduate program during the upcoming academic year. They must be enrolled in a beef industry-related program of study and have a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the beef industry through previous coursework taken, internships completed or other life experiences. They or their families must be members of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. Selection is based on the strength of the essay, letter of intent and reference letters.

Applicants must be Connecticut residents who have been accepted at or are enrolled at a postsecondary institution full-time. They must be studying or have plans to study a science or engineering subject that is related to air and waste management or a related environmental subject, and they must intend to pursue careers in one of these areas. Selection is based on academic achievement, stated career goals, extracurricular involvements and letters of recommendation.

 

Outstanding Undergraduate Researchers Award Program

Award: $1,500, Deadline: October 24

Applicants must be undergraduates at a North American college or university and must have conducted some type of computing research. Nominations from two faculty members and a recommendation from the chair of the applicant's home department are also required. Preference is given to undergraduate seniors. Selection is based on the quality of computing research, academic achievement and community involvement.

To be eligible for an AzLEAP Grant, an applicant must be a permanent legal resident of Arizona; be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen; have applied for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); not be in default of any federal or state student loans; be enrolled at least half-time as an undergraduate; and demonstrate financial aid need. Eldon Roesler Scholarship

Applicants must be Wisconsin residents who have completed at least one year of undergraduate study at a Wisconsin postsecondary institution. They must be enrolled in or plan to pursue a career in an agriculture-related subject and must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Preference is given to the children of WASA members and the children of WASA company employees. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership skills and financial need.

They must have a career goal that entails communicating love and appreciation of hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. Selection is based on essay, faculty advisor or FOWA member endorsement, scholastic merit and extracurricular activities. Preference is given to journalism and communications majors.

Colorado Nurses Association Nightingale Scholarship

Students must be Colorado residents who are Colorado Nurses Association or Colorado Student Nurses Association members. They must be second-year ASN students; third- or fourth-year BSN students; RNs enrolled at a school of nursing at any postsecondary level; currently practicing RNs enrolled in a doctoral nursing program or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students. Undergraduates must have a GPA of 3.25 or above, and graduate students must have a GPA of 3.5 or above. Applicants must have plans to practice nursing in the state of Colorado after graduation. Selection is based on stated career goals, GPA, financial need, participation in community and professional organizations and commitment to practicing nursing in Colorado.
