Ohio Section Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: November 2

Applicants must be full-time students who are attending an ABET-accredited college or university located in the state of Ohio. They must be enrolled in a civil engineering or other transportation-related degree program and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Selection is based on academic achievement, stated career goals and extracurricular activities.

 

Physician Assistants for Latino Health Scholarships

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicants must be members of Physician Assistants for Latino Health (PALH) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA). They must be currently enrolled in a physician assistant program and have leadership experience in the Latino community or be interested in Latino health concerns. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

SEE Education Foundation Scholarships

Applicants must be pursuing a degree from a technical, undergraduate, graduate or doctoral program in fields of education related to the commercial explosives industry. Students should demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Thomara Latimer Cancer Foundation Scholarship

Applicants must be African-American students between the ages of 17 and 30, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be Michigan residents who are enrolled at or have been accepted to an accredited postsecondary institution. They must be studying or planning to study allied health, medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assisting or a related subject. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Harlequin Floors Scholarship Video Contest

Applicants must be U.S. or Canadian residents and submit a dance video.

 

Northwest Perspectives Essay Contest

Award: $750, Deadline: January 20

Entrants must be current undergraduate or graduate students, or they must be nonfiction writers who 1) have never won first place in the contest; 2) have not had any featured articles published in the Oregon Quarterly in the past calendar year; 3) are not employees of the Oregon Quarterly or University of Oregon Advancement and 4) are not family members of Oregon Quarterly or University of Oregon Advancement employees. Entrants must submit an essay on a topic that pertains to the Northwest region. Selection is based on the overall strength of the essay.

 

OBTA Dr. Mearl R. Guthrie Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: July 15

Applicants must be undergraduate juniors, undergraduate seniors or graduate students who are enrolled at an Ohio college or university and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. They must be full-time students who are majoring in business education. They must have plans to pursue careers as business education teachers. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

CareerTech Foundation Teacher Recruitment/Retention Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: each semester

Applicants must be Oklahoma residents who are attending an accredited postsecondary institution located in Oklahoma. They must be current CareerTech educators who are pursuing a CareerTech certification or credential or they must be undergraduate juniors or seniors who are seeking to become CareerTech educators. They must be enrolled for at least 3 credits per term and must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Pennsylvania Business Education Association Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 15

Applicants must be enrolled in a business teacher education program at a postsecondary institution located in Pennsylvania. They must be pursuing an undergraduate degree, master's degree or teaching certificate in the subject. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Disney/ABC Television Writing Program

Award: $50,000, Deadline: Open

Applicants must be age 21 or older. They must be able to work in the U.S. legally. Professional writing experience is not necessary, but applicants must have strong spec script writing skills. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Dr. Harold Kerzner Scholarships

Award: $7,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicants must be current or entering undergraduate or graduate students who are studying or planning to study project management at a degree-granting college or university. Selection is based on academic achievement and extracurricular activities.

 

Love Your Body Poster Contest

Award: $350, Deadline: January 15

Applicants may be non-students or may be students of any grade level at a primary, secondary or postsecondary school. They can be residents of any country. They must design and submit an original poster that challenges limiting, stereotypical or negative portrayals of women in the media. Selection is based on poster message and graphical attractiveness.

 

DTE Energy Foundation Sphinx Competition

Award: $50,000, Deadline: November 7

Applicants must be U.S. legal residents who are of junior high school, high school or college age. They must submit a videotape of a solo performance in order to be considered for the live semifinals competition. Selection is based on the quality of performance during the semifinal and final rounds of live competition.

 

Oregon Army National Guard

Award: -, Deadline: Open

Students must serve in the Oregon Army National Guard. The educational program provides tuition and expenses for vocational school, distance learning, alternative credit programs or college. The Student Loan Repayment Program helps students in repaying up to $50,000. Students must take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).

 

Northwest Nazarene University - Idaho Opportunity Scholarship

Award: $15,000, Deadline: March 1

To qualify for the scholarship, an applicant must have an unweighted, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above; be an Idaho resident; be a graduate from an Idaho high school; complete the State Board of Education scholarship application; complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); enroll as a full-time undergraduate student seeking their first undergraduate degree; and maintain satisfactory academic progress for financial aid purposes. Awards are for up to the full cost of attendance.

 

Brigham Young University - Idaho - Idaho Opportunity Scholarship

Award: $15,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicants must be relatives of an active member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA),earning or earned a bachelor's or master's degree in education and pursuing or have pursued their teaching certification exam.

 

Alexia Foundation Student Grants

Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate or graduate students in an accredited college or university in the United States or abroad. Professional photographers are not eligible. Selection is based on photographic skill as well as the strength of the proposal.

 

Frances Lansbury Memorial Award/Adult Female Learner

Applicant must be 20 years old by March 1 and be continuing her education in a school of higher education. She must also be sponsored by a current New York State Women's 600 Bowling Club member.

 

Easton/NFAA Scholarship Program

Award: -, Deadline: December 31

Applicants must be high school students or a student enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university. High school students applying to be full time students at a technical training college are also eligible to apply. Applicants must also be current members of NFAA or the NAA/USA Archery. The student must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in high school or 2.5 in college. Selection is based on academic achievements, level of participation in NFAA and USAT rankings.

 

ISAA Scholarship Program

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 31

Applicants must be a high school senior, have obtained a GED or be a full-time college student. The student must have been an active member of ISAA for at least two years. Selection is based on participation in ISAA activities, academic achievement, financial need, community involvement and the reference letters.

 

CollegeSTEPS Sweepstakes

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 30

Students must be attending a high school, college or university or be home schooled and be at least 14 years old. Winners are selected from those who enroll in the CollegeSTEPS program.

 

Giva Corporate Student Scholarship and Worldwide Community Ambassador Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1; December 1

Applicants must be attending any college or university worldwide as undergraduate or graduate students. Selection is based on the 600- to 1,000-word essay. The student's school must post information about the scholarship on the public website in order for the student to be eligible to apply.

 

Imagine Blue Awards

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 4

Applicants must be students in high school through the post-graduate level. Selection is based on the Bluetooth project and application or prototype submitted. Judges will consider whether the project utilizes Bluetooth technology, the application meets an end user need, the application and demo script are well written and organized and the user interface is intuitive.

 

John J. Smith Graduate School Scolarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 20

Applicants must be current graduate level college students or be entering into a graduate program and be current NIRA members.

 

Harry Vold "Duke of the Chutes" Scholarship Award

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 25

Selection is based on the representation by the applicant of the following traits: courteousness, loyalty, faithfulness, honesty, kindness and generosity. In addition, the applicant must show patriotism and dedication to the sport of rodeo.

 

GEICO Graduate Award

Helene M. Overly Memorial Graduate Scholarship

Applicants must be women enrolled in graduate studies in transportation or the related fields of engineering, planning, finance or logistics. Selection is based on the applicant's academic record, transportation-related activities or job skills and specific transportation goals.

 

Shlemon Awards

Applicants must be members of the Geological Society of America's Engineering Geology Division, and they must be conducting research at the master's or doctoral level.

 

ACI-NA Airport Commissioner's Scholarships

Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in airport management or airport operations. Applicants must attend an accredited school in the U.S. or Canada and have a GPA of at least 3.0.
