Scholarships in Mathematics Education

Elizabeth Glenadine Gibb Mathematics Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: n/a

Applicant must be an incoming freshman who is majoring in mathematics/teacher education with the intent of pursuing a career in teaching mathematics. One of the following is required: have a composite ACT score of 27; be in the upper 10 percent of high school graduating class with composite ACT score of 22; or have a minimum 3.2 GPA for all course work at an accredited college or university. Current undergraduate students must be majoring in mathematics with teaching of mathematics as a career goal. Minimum 3.0 GPA required of current students.

 

ADP STEM Scholarship

Award: $2,600, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a current student (junior or senior) who is majoring in a STEM discipline (biology, chemistry, or mathematics), business field (business administration, accounting, marketing, management, international business, or management information systems), or secondary education teacher candidates majoring biology education or mathematics education. Minimum 2.5 GPA required. Recipient must commit to a position as a RA (research assistant) or TA (teaching assistant) in the Department of Mathematics, Sciences & Technology, the Department of Education, or the Department of Business Administration.

 

Maude and harvey Goehring Scholarship

Award: $1,250, Deadline: March 3

Applicant must be a graduate of any Henderson County high school who plans to pursue a degree to teach physical science or mathematics in public secondary schools. Minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Jeffrey and Regina Taussig Ohio Honors Scholarship

Award: $125,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicants must be freshmen with a high school cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and reside in Ohio. Students must have participated in considerable co-curricular activities. Applicants must major in one of the following areas: biochemistry, biology, biology education, chemistry, chemistry education, computer science, engineering, environmental science, forensic chemistry or science, marine biology, mathematics, math education, pre-dental, pre-medical or pre-veterinary.
