Scholarships in Allegan

Geographic Region Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be an entering freshman who is residing in Michigan counties outside of Macomb, Oakland, or Wayne who wish to live on campus. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Recipients of award are required to live in university housing for their first two years.

 

Economic Club Business Study Abroad Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must have been a resident of Kent, Allegan, Ottawa, or Muskegon, Mich., counties for at least three years, or be a resident student at a public college in the West Michigan, area for at least two years. Recipient must study abroad through any accredited college/university specified, with major in accounting, business administration, economics, managerial science, and mathmatics, witha minimum 3.0 GPA. selection basis includes financial need.

 

Altrusa International of Grand Rapids Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of one of the following Michigan counties for at least six months: Kent, Allegan, Ionia, Ottawa, Montcalm, or Musegon. Applicant must be a returning student or new college student who has not attended college for 24 months prior to application. Selection is based upon financial need and two letters of recommendation.

 

ALLCOPS Criminal Justice Professional Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 21

Applicant must be a resident of Allegan County who will enroll full-time in a criminal justice program. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

TAG Team Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: February 23

Applicant must be a graduating senior from an Allegan County high school who will pursue post-secondary education full-time.

 

Allegan Tigers Athletic Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 28

Applicant must be a graduating senior from an Allegan County high school who participated in the athletic program and will pursue post-secondary education full-time. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

R.G. Blanz Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 8

Applicant must be a graduating senior from an Allegan County high school who will pursue post-secondary education full-time and is a child or grandchild of an Allegan County EMT, Firefighter, or law enforcement professional, or will pursue a career in emergency medical services, fire safety, or law enforcement. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Elizabeth K. Morrie Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 8

Applicant must be a graduating senior from an Allegan County high school who participated in sports and will pursue post-secondary education full-time. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Jo Bortz Vocal Arts Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 13

Applicant must be a graduating senior from an Allegan County high school, or a current student residing in Allegan County who is pursuing an education in vocal arts.

 

Allegan County Area Technical & Education Center Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 28

Applicant must be a graduating senior from an Allegan County technical education program who will pursue post-secondary education in a math or science related field. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Jackie Klinesteker Minority Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a student of color (African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander) who resides in West Michigan with a declared major in a mental health-related field of study at an accredited college/university located within Michigan. Graduate level students will be given first preference. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and financial need are required.
