Applicant must be a full-time student, have a minimum 3.3 GPA, and have been a resident of Kent County, Mich. for at least three years. Selection is based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities, personal statement, and financial need.

Grand Rapids Foundation Michigan Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and have been a resident of Kent County, Mich. for at least three years. Applicant must attend any school in Michigan except Aquinas Coll, Calvin Coll, Cornerstone U., Davenport U., Grand Rapids Community Coll, Grand Valley St U, or Kendall Coll of Art and Design. Selection is based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and a personal statement.

Virginia Valk Fehsenfeld Scholarship

Economic Club of Grand Rapids Scholarship

Dorothy J. Thurston Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate-level student attending an accredited school in the US, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and have been a resident of Kent County, Mich. for at least two years, (at time of application or prior to college study). Paul Collins Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate artistic talent, and be a resident of Kent County, Mich. Selection is based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities, personal statement, and financial need.

Geographic Region Award

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be an entering freshman who is residing in Michigan counties outside of Macomb, Oakland, or Wayne who wish to live on campus. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Recipients of award are required to live in university housing for their first two years.

Donald J. DeYoung Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must have had contact with the Family Division of Circuit Court, and must submit an essay, describing how being involved with the court system has meant to them in their life. Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from a caseworker or probation officer, and demonstrate interest in pursuing college or vocational education. Selection is based upon a minimum 2.5 GPA, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, personal statement, and financial need.

Mathilda Gallmeyer Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 2.75 GPA, and have lived in Kent County, Mich. for at least five years. Applicant must have received artistic awards or recognition, and demonstrate artistic talent. Applicant must have been a resident of Kent, Allegan, Ottawa, or Muskegon, Mich., counties for at least three years, or be a resident student at a public college in the West Michigan, area for at least two years. Recipient must study abroad through any accredited college/university specified, with major in accounting, business administration, economics, managerial science, and mathmatics, witha minimum 3.0 GPA. selection basis includes financial need.

Altrusa International of Grand Rapids Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of one of the following Michigan counties for at least six months: Kent, Allegan, Ionia, Ottawa, Montcalm, or Musegon. Applicant must be a returning student or new college student who has not attended college for 24 months prior to application. Selection is based upon financial need and two letters of recommendation.

Patricia and Armen Oumedian Engineering Scholarship

Elmo Wierenga Alumni Scholarship

Applicant must be a senior graduating from Ottawa Hill High School in Grand Rapids, MI, and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Applicant must be a full-time student at a two- or four-year institution or vocational program. Jackie Klinesteker Minority Scholarship

Applicant must be a student of color (African-American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander) who resides in West Michigan with a declared major in a mental health-related field of study at an accredited college/university located within Michigan. Graduate level students will be given first preference. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and financial need are required.

Arts Council of Greater Grand Rapids Minority Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a student of color (African American, Asian, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander) who is a Kent County, MI, resident. Applicant must be attending a non-profit public or private college/university and majoring in fine arts (including all visual and performing art forms). Financial need and minimum 2.5 GPA are required.

Darooge Family Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior residing in Kent County, MI, who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in a construction-related field of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or trade school in Michigan. Financial need is required.
