Applicant must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering, instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, or automation discipline at an accredited United States educational institution for the upcoming academic year. At the time of application, applicant must have completed at least their sophomore year in a bachelor's degree program have a minimum 3.2 GPA, and be a United States citizen or legal United States resident. Selection will be based on applicant's potential for leadership and for making a significant contribution to the engineering, instrumentation, systems, electrical, mechanical, and automation professions, particularly as they relate to the application of fluid control and fluid power technology.

Program provides a combination of scholarship assistance and a possible structured, multi-year internship for Latino college students. The internships are designed to work with major corporations, and at the same time, provide students with a pathway to high-level careers in the private sector.
