AGC Education and Research Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a college sophomore or junior enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time, four- or five-year ABET or ACCE-accredited construction management, or construction-related engineering program. Application, evaluation forms, and transcript are required.

 

Associated Builders and Contractors Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must have successfully completed at least one year of schooling in an associate or baccalaureate degree program in construction (other than a design discipline) by August 31, and be an active member of their school's ABC student chapter, if the school has one. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic performance, extracurricular activities, and employment experience.

 

ASDSO Undergraduate Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is enrolled full-time at the senior level during the next school year in an accredited civil engineering program, or in a related field as determined by ASDSO. Applicant must have an interest in pursuing a career in hydraulics, hydrology or geotechnical disciplines, or in another discipline related to the design, construction, and operation of dams. Minimum 2.5 GPA for the first three years of college and recommendation from academic advisor required. Selection based upon academic achievement, financial need, work experience/activities, and essay.

 

Conditional Grant Program

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Texas resident, must be economically disadvantaged, and must attend a four-year public college or university in Texas.

 

Chi Epsilon Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: October 15

Applicants must be members of the Chi Epsilon, Civil Engineering Honor Society.

 

AGC Education and Research Foundation Graduate Award

Award: $7,500, Deadline: November 15

Applicant must be a college senior enrolled in an ABET or ACCE-accredited (or candidate status) construction or civil engineering program, or possess an undergraduate construction or civil engineering degree from such an accredited program. Applicant must be enrolled or planning to enroll as a full-time student in a construction graduate degree program or part-time student in one of the sponsor's recognized master's programs for the fall term; one full academic year is required to remain in the applicant's schooling. Application, evaluation forms, and transcript are required.

 

RMCMI Scholarship

Award: $2,750, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student and be a resident of one of the RMCMI member states: Arizona, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, Utah, or Wyoming.

 

Structural Engineering Traveling Fellowship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: December 9

Applicant must be nominated by his or her school, be graduating with a master's or doctoral degree, and submit a paper and travel plan. Applicant must specialize in structural engineering. Award is for post-graduation travel and study.

 

Arsham Amirikian Engineering Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a college student enrolled in a civil engineering or welding discipline at a United States institution. Minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Matsuo Bridge Company of Japan Grant

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant be majoring in civil engineering or welding with a minimum 3.0 GPA. A valid United States passport is required.

 

Safe Water Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be enrolled in a secondary education program related to the water industry, including community college, technical school, four-year undergraduate programs, and masters and doctoral programs. Applicants must be either an Illinois resident or enrolled in an Illinois secondary education program. This includes, but is not limited to such fields of study as water utility operations and management, civil or environmental engineering, environmental science and policy, chemistry, biology, or water resource management. Selection based on merit/academic performance, leadership/extracurricular activities, recommendation letters, personal statement outlining qualifications for the award, and essay on how applicant envisions contributing to the water industry in the future. Applicants with prior experience in the water industry are preferred.

 

Dorothy Lemke Howarth Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a woman, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Trent R. Dames & William W. Moore Fellowship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: February 10

Awarded on a competitive basis for a proposed research project for the exploration of new applications of geotechnical engineering or the earth sciences to social, economic, environmental, and political issues.

 

Samuel Fletcher Tapman ASCE Student Chapter/Club Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 10

Applicant must be an ASCE National Student Member; not more than two applications per student chapter may be submitted. Selection is based upon the appraisal of the applicant's justification of the award, educational plan, academic performance and standing, potential for development, leadership capacity, and financial need.

 

Men's Auxiliary of the SWE (MASWE) Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a woman and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must demonstrate financial need and be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Ivy Parker Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a woman, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Olive Lynn Salembier Reentry Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a woman who has been out of the engineering job market for a minimum of two years. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution. Scholarship is to aid in obtaining the credentials necessary to re-enter the job market as an engineer.

 

Arthur S. Tuttle Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 9

Applicant must be a member in good standing of the National ASCE pursuing masters-level study. Selection is based upon appraisal of applicant's justification, educational plan, academic performance and standing, potential for development, leadership capacity, and financial need.

 

Freeman Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 9

Applicant must be a member of ASCE in good standing. Traveling scholarships are available to members under age 45.

 

TRW Scholarship

Award: $2,125, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a woman and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Texaco Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a woman, a SWE member, and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved institution, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Employees of Duke Power Scholars Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. Preference is given in the following order to applicants majoring in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, accounting, and computer science.

 

Helen Meeks McKerley Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.

 

Cohos Evamy Partners Design Competition

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant, have a minimum 2.8 GPA, and plan a career in structural engineering. Selection is based upon performance in the annual structural design competition. Award is in Canadian dollars.

 

Anne Maureen Whitney Barrow Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a woman and have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

Chevron Corp. Scholarship

Applicant must be an SWE student member, a woman, have a minimum 3.5 GPA, and be enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.
