Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents. They must be Oregon or Siskiyou County, California residents who are high school graduates, GED recipients or community college students who will be transferring to an Oregon or California four-year college with junior standing during the fall of the application year. They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher or a GED score of 2650 or higher, have plans to earn a bachelor's degree at a non-profit Oregon or California institution and be enrolled as a full-time student no later than the fall of the application year. They must owe no educational grant refund money and must have no defaulted student loans. Applicants who have earned a bachelor's degree previously are ineligible. Northern Nevada residents and those attending northern Nevada schools receive preference. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited two or four year degree or certifying program, will take a minimum of 6 to 8 credits per semester and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

Applicants must be be full-time students who are enrolled in an ABET-accredited engineering program. They must be rising juniors or seniors who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher on a four-point scale. Applicants cannot be currently receiving another scholarship awarded by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), and they cannot be receiving full funding from another source (such as an employee reimbursement program or the U.S. military). Selection is based on academic merit and financial need.

Applicants must be Florida residents for at least a year and first-time undergraduate students enrolled in degree programs (except theology or divinity degrees). Applicants must meet Florida's general state aid eligibility requirements and enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester. Award renewable for up to nine semesters. Participating institutions determine application procedures, deadlines and student eligibility. Award amount determined by the Legislature in the General Appropriation Act each year.

There are programs in comparative political and economic systems, political journalism, business and government, philanthropy and international institutes. Each program includes classes, an internship and special events. Students live in on-campus housing at George Washington University or in furnished apartments in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Each student takes 3-9 credit hours in courses at George Mason University in addition to interning 30-35 hours per week. Summer and school-year programs are available.

Applicants must have a parent who served in the United States Armed Forces during Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf, Vietnam or Korean Conflicts, World War I or II or as a Merchant Seaman during World War II. The parent must be or have been a resident of New York State and have died or suffered a disability of 40 percent or more as a result of service, been classified as missing in action or been a prisoner of war. Students with a parent who has received the expeditionary medal for participation in operations in Lebanon, Grenada or Panama and students born with spina bifida whose parent is a Vietnam Veteran are also eligible.
