The Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship

Applicant must be a current NAACP member, a U.S. citizen, under the age of 25 and must demonstrate financial need. Undergraduate students must have a minimum 2.5 GPA; graduate students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled full- or part-time.

 

The Hubertus W.V. Willems Scholarship for Male Students

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 28

Applicant must be a male student, majoring in engineering, chemistry, physics or mathematical sciences in undergraduate or graduate school. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

NCOA Scholarship

Award: $900, Deadline: March 31

Awarded to dependents of members of the Non Commissioned Officers Association (NCOA) for undergraduate study.

 

Two Ten Footwear Foundation Scholarships

Award: -, Deadline: February 16

Selection is based on academic record, personal promise, character, and financial need. Applicant must be employed in the footwear, leather or allied industries for at least 500 hours during the year prior to January 1 or applicant's parents must be employed in these industries for a minimum of two years. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen, display unmet financial need, and be enrolled in an accredited two- or four year college, university, nursing, or vocational/technical school. One exceptional candidate who meets the Two Ten scholarship criteria and exhibits substantial financial need is selected to be a Super Scholar (worth up to $15,000 per year and is renewable for four years of undergraduate study).

 

Carpe Diem Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate leadership in community service activities. Preference is given to children of parents involved in government service, justice, health care, education and community service-type employment.

 

Midwest Student Exchange Program

The HBCU Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a current student or incoming freshman at a Historically Black College or University. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States and apply to be accepted at an accredited college (excluding propriety schools) in the United States. Applicant must be a full-time student and possess a GPA of 2.5 (C+). NAACP membership is highly desirable and applicant must demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be a resident of Missouri and under the age of 21 who is unmarried and a descendant of a veteran with at least 90 days active service in the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, or Coast Guard who received an Honorable Discharge for such service. Applicant must be attending an accredited college/university as a full-time student training to be a registered nurse. Application and photocopy of veteran's discharge or separation notice are required to be submitted.

 

The Charles and Melva T. Owen Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be legally blind in both eyes, residing in and pursuing a full-time course of study in an accredited degree program in the United States or Puerto Rico. Online/print application form, personal essay, two letters of recommendation, proof of legal blindness, all post-secondary transcripts, and one interview with NFB state president required; financial need not required. One scholarship may be given to a student who is working full-time and attending part-time. Recipient must participate in the NFB Annual Convention (financial assistance for convention is in addition to the scholarship). Marguerite Mc'Alpin Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship for Survivors

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 30

Awarded to individuals, under the age of 25, who are or have been diagnosed with cancer or a critical or life threatening disease in the past five years. Applicant must be pursuing an associate's degree as a bridge to a bachelor's degree or higher. Essay on how diagnosis has impacted their life and their future goals is required.. Copy of an acceptance letter from the college, university, or vocational-technical school applicant is planning to attend, written documentation from treating physician stating medical history, two letters of recommendation from non-related persons, official high school and/or current college transcript, and completed financial form to demonstrate financial need are required to be submitted.

 

Jonathan Lax Scholarship for Gay Men

Award: $20,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an out gay man who is from the five county Philadelphia region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties) or Camden County, or who is attending an accredited college, or graduate or professional school anywhere within the Philadelphia region. Purpose of award is to encourage gay men to obtain additional education, aspire to positions in which they contribute to society, be open about their sexual orientation, and act as role models for other gay men with similar potential.

 

Morton B. Duggan, Jr. Memorial Education Recognition Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1

Application, verification of enrollment in an accredited respiratory care training program, official transcript verifying a minimum 3.0 GPA, original reference paper on some aspect of respiratory care, and letters of recommendation are required to be submitted. Award consists of a certificate of recognition, coach airfare, and one night lodging and registration for the AARC Congress.

William W. Burgin Jr. MD Education Recognition Award

Application, letter from director of admissions verifying enrollment in an accredited Associate Degree respiratory care educational program, an original referenced paper on some aspect of respiratory care, original essay of at least 1,200 words describing how this award will assist the applicant in reaching the objective of a degree and the candidate's ultimate goals of leadership in health care are required to be submitted. Award consists of a certificate of recognition, one night lodging and registration for the AARC Congress.

 

Guide Dogs for the Blind Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is legally blind and is in an undergraduate program at any full-time institution. Selection is based upon transcript, two recommendations, and personal statement.
