Applicants must be high school seniors or undergraduate students and have a 2.6 or higher GPA. Selection is based on academic achievement, letters of recommendation, extra curricular activity involvement, employment experience and financial need.

 

Giva Corporate Student Scholarship and Worldwide Community Ambassador Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1; December 1

Applicants must be attending any college or university worldwide as undergraduate or graduate students. Selection is based on the 600- to 1,000-word essay. The student's school must post information about the scholarship on the public website in order for the student to be eligible to apply.

 

Laura W. Bush Traveling Fellowship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 28 and September 30

Students must be currently enrolled in a U.S. college or university, 18-25 years old and a U.S. citizen eligible for foreign travel. Selection is based on the originality and feasibility of the proposed work to be performed in a foreign country to promote UNESCO mandates. Selection is also based on the quality of the personal essay.

 

Imagine Blue Awards

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 4

Applicants must be students in high school through the post-graduate level. Selection is based on the Bluetooth project and application or prototype submitted. Judges will consider whether the project utilizes Bluetooth technology, the application meets an end user need, the application and demo script are well written and organized and the user interface is intuitive.

 

Harry Vold "Duke of the Chutes" Scholarship Award

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 25

Selection is based on the representation by the applicant of the following traits: courteousness, loyalty, faithfulness, honesty, kindness and generosity. In addition, the applicant must show patriotism and dedication to the sport of rodeo.

 

National Intercollegiate Rodeo Foundation Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: May 20

Applicants must be current college students, have at least a 3.0 GPA and be state financial assistance qualified or show evidence of financial need. Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need and the essay.

 

Rawhide Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: May 22

Students must be current NIRA members, be college undergraduates and be academically eligible. Selection is based on the applicant's representation of the principles of positive choices, commitment to personal fitness, balance between rodeo and other commitments and having academic and career goals. Applicants should be involved in community service, have been in leadership roles and have a dedication to rodeo.

 

Western Region/Big Al Wagner Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors at a two-year or four-year accredited college. Applicants must be enrolled full-time at their chosen college and must attend for the full year during the year of receipt of the scholarship. Selection is based on academic achievement, need, school and community activities and work record as well as contributions to the sport of water skiing.

 

Tim Olson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors at a two-year or four-year accredited college and enrolled full-time. Applicants must remain enrolled full-time at their chosen college during the year of receipt of the scholarship. Selection is based on the applicant's academic achievement record, need, community and school activities and work record as well as their contributions to the sport of water skiing.

 

AWSEF Scholarship

Applicants must be full-time undergraduates at a two- or four-year college as incoming sophomores to incoming seniors. Applicants must also be active members of USA WATER SKI all divisions: AWSA-ABC-AKA-WSDA-NSSA-NCWSA-NCWSRA-USAWB-HYD. Students should submit an application, two reference letters, an essay and a transcript.

 

Jean Downes Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be studying full-time at a two-year or four-year accredited college as an incoming freshman, sophomore, junior or senior. Applicants must attend their chosen college for the full year during the year of receipt of the scholarship. Selection is based on applicant's academic achievement, need, work record and school and community activities as well as their contributions to the sport of water skiing.

 

Southern Region/Elmer Stailing Scholarship

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors at an accredited two-year or four-year college. Applicants must continue to be enrolled full-time at their college during the year of receipt of the scholarship. Selection is based on the applicant's academic achievement, work record, need and school and community activities as well as their contributions to the sport of water skiing.

 

Nautique Boats Scholarship

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be enrolled full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year college as an incoming freshman, sophomore, junior or senior. Applicants must continue to be enrolled full-time for the full year of receipt of the scholarship. Selection is based on applicant's academic achievement, need, work record, contributions to the sport of water skiing and school and community activities.

 

Jennifer Odom/David Kammerer Memorial Scholarship

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors or seniors enrolled full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year college. Applicants must remain enrolled full-time during the year of receipt of the scholarship. MasterCraft Scholarship

Applicants must be a full-time student attending a two-year or four-year accredited college and be an incoming freshman, sophomore, junior or senior. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and a member of USA Water Ski. Selection varies by region and may be based on applicant's academic achievement, need, work record and community and school activities as well as contributions to the sport of water skiing as a skier or worker at tournaments.
