Rosewood Family Scholarship Program

Award: $6,100, Deadline: April 1

Applicants must be full-time, undergraduate students who attend state universities, public community colleges or public postsecondary vocational-technical schools. Direct descendants of Rosewood families affected by the incidents of January, 1923 receive preference. The descendants must provide family information on the Florida Financial Aid Application.

 

Michael A. Hunter Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be high school seniors or current college students who are leukemia patients and/or are the children of non-surviving leukemia patients. Applicants must be full-time students with a GPA of at least 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. They must submit an essay describing how leukemia has impacted their life, a doctor's note verifying the leukemia diagnosis and two letters of recommendation.

 

Distinguished Student Scholar Award

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicants must be education majors of at least sophomore level who demonstrate leadership skills and a strong dedication to education. They must be nominated for the scholarship by an instructor or supervisor. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.5 and demonstrate significant contributions to local or national education efforts. This scholarship is only available in odd years.

 

National and District Scholarships

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicants must be high school seniors, college students, post-graduate students or adult students of Greek descent.

 

NAHN Scholarship

Applicants must be members of the NAHN and be enrolled in a diploma, associate, baccalaureate, graduate or practical/vocational nursing program.

 

St. Andrew's Society of Washington, DC Scholarship

Applicants must be of Scottish birth or descent and be able to cite their Scottish descent. U.S. citizens must be permanent residents of the District of Columbia, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, West Virginia, Pennsylvania or Virginia. Students must also demonstrate financial need and academic achievement. Attention will be given to work that enhances the "knowledge of Scottish history or culture."

 

Aid for Part-Time Study

Applicants must meet income eligibility requirements, be enrolled for at least 3 but less than 12 semester hours per semester or at least 4 but less than 8 semester hours per quarter in an eligible undergraduate program, be New York State residents and be U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens. Tuition charges must exceed $100 per year, and once payments begin, students must maintain a C average.

Cherokee Nation Directed Studies Scholarship

Applicants must be citizens of the Cherokee Nation and reside in the Cherokee Nation jurisdictional area. They must be enrolled full-time in a graduate or upper-level undergraduate degree program. They must agree to work for the Cherokee Nation for two years following graduation. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Montgomery GI Bill Tuition Assistance Top-Up

Applicants must be eligible for MGIB-Active Duty benefits, and they must have served on active duty in the United States military for at least two years.

 

Wisconsin Veterans Education Reimbursement Grants

Applicants must be Wisconsin residents and must have served in the U.S. armed forces in active duty for two consecutive years, completed their initial active service obligations, accumulated at least 90 days of active duty during wartime or have received or become qualified to receive an expeditionary or service medal. Students must have received an honorable discharge and be working toward a degree or certificate. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required. Funds are awarded upon course completion.

 

Scholars for Excellence in Child Care

NACA Northern Plains Regional Student Leadership Scholarship

Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students taking at least six credits per semester and be enrolled in or have previously earned a degree from a college or university in Wisconsin or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Applicants must also have demonstrated leadership and service to their campus community.

National Aviation Explorer Scholarships

Montgomery GI Bill - Selected Reserve

Applicants must have a six-year commitment to the Selected Reserve signed after June 30, 1985. The Selected Reserve includes the Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve and Coast Guard Reserve and the Army National Guard and the Air National Guard. Applicants must have completed basic military training, meet the requirements to receive a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and may use the funds for degree programs, certificate or correspondence courses, cooperative training, independent study programs, apprenticeship/on-the-job training and vocational flight training programs.

 

State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC) Scholarships

ASME Foundation Scholarships

Applicants must be current ASME student members who are currently enrolled in (or have been accepted into) an ABET-accredited (or similarly accredited) undergraduate degree program in mechanical engineering, mechanical engineering technology or a subject related to one of these. They must be rising or current sophomores, juniors or seniors with a minimum 3.5 GPA. Selection is based on academic achievement and professional potential in engineering.

 

Ada I. Pressman Memorial Scholarship

Applicants may major in any type of engineering. They must be U.S. citizens and must be college sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduate students. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.

 

Markley Scholarship
