Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and enrolled or planning to be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university program. Applicant must be a student in the state of Utah. Selection is based on an essay.

 

Inverters R Us Power Scholarships

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are enrolled or plan to be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the Fall. Students will submit a short essay on the benefits of solar power. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

National Space Club and Foundation Keynote Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: December 2

Applicants must be high school seniors, undergraduate or graduate level college pursuing a degree that will lead to a career in the science, technology, engineering or math fields. Preference given to those students with space related interests. Students must be U.S. citizens. Applicants will submit, along with the application, a video of themselves speaking on the topic of "Why you are inspired by space." Finalists will be expected to speak at the Goddard Memorial Dinner in March.

 

Apartment List Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be a high school senior, or a undergraduate or graduate level student. Applicants must be U.S. residents. The contest occurs four times a year with deadlines of March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1. Dr. Alma S. Adams Scholarship for Outreach and Health Communications to Reduce Tobacco Use Among Priority Populations

Applicants must be pursuing coursework in public health, communications, social work, education, liberal arts or a related field. A minimum 2.0 GPA is required and students must be U.S. citizens. Applicants should display a commitment to community service and reducing tobacco usage in priority populations.

Special consideration given to applicants who are actively promoting financial literacy within their community.

 

Social Network Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: Monthly

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. The contest is monthly. Applicants will submit a post to be entered into that month's competition. The post with the most votes at the end of the month wins. Applicants must enter a new post each month to be considered for that month's competition.

 

Experts Exchange Scholarship Contest

Award: $1,500, Deadline: December 31

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or hold a valid student visa. Students must also be enrolled in or accepted to a college, university or trade school as an undergraduate or graduate level student within the U.S. Applicants will need to submit an article or video on a technology topic that describes and/or solves a specific problem. The contest is held twice a year.

 

Women in Technology Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 7

Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to a two or four-year college or university within the U.S. Students must be pursuing a career in computer science, information technology, management information systems, computer engineering or another related field. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required. The application requires an essay on the stated topic. Students must also actively participate in community service and/or extracurricular activities.

 

HIV-Positive Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: Monthly

Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are currently enrolled or will be enrolled the following semester full-time at an accredited college or university in the U.S. Students will need to provide proof that they are HIV-positive. Applicants must also submit an essay on how HIV was contracted, how it has affected their life, and what they wish those living without HIV knew about living with the virus. The scholarship is awarded monthly.

 

Critical Care Scholarship Program

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 30

Applicants must be California residents pursuing a degree in healthcare/nursing. Students are required to submit an essay on the designated topic found on the website. After applicants are narrowed down, the essays will then need to be shared on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or other social networking page and receive votes. Contest runs quarterly.

 

ADT Educational Ascholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: May 1

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and be enrolled full-time. Students will need to submit a 500-700 word essay describing programs and strategies that would better their community and reduce crime.

 

The Disabled Student Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: August 1

Applicants must have a medically diagnosed physical or mental impairment that interferes with everyday activities or quality of life and can provide a physician's statement regarding their impairment. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. Students must be a legal resident of the U.S. and enrolled full time for the upcoming fall semester. Applicants will need to submit a short essay describing an obstacle or hardship incurred due to their medical condition, how the student overcame that obstacle, how it influence the student's life and how it will impact them in the future. Selection is based on the essay.

 

The Special Education Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: August 1

Applicants must be majoring in special education and must be taking at least one major-required class in the upcoming fall semester. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or greater. Students will need to submit an essay describing why they are pursuing career in special education and how they plan to make a difference in the lives of the disabled. Selection is based on the essay.

 

Goldia Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: December 31

Applicants must be currently residing in the United States, Brazil, India, South Korea, Australia, Japan, United Kingdom or Canada. Applicants must be full-time enrolled college students or alumni. If an alumni is awarded, the funds will be given to the college. Applicants will need to complete a survey and submit a 750-word essay on one of the topics found within the survey.

 

Bright!Tax Global Scholar Initiative

Award: $1,000, Deadline: Rolling

Applicants must be U.S. citizens. Students must want to study abroad for at least one full semester at an accredited institution. Selection is based on academic and extracurricular achievement, community involvement, future ambitions and financial need. Scholarship is awarded on a ongoing basis with no deadlines.

 

All Pro Plumbing, Heating and Air Scholarship

Applicants must reside in the U.S. and be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a program that addresses home design, architecture, engineering, plumbing, heating or air conditioning. Students will need to submit a short essay explaining why they have chosen that field of study and how the scholarship will help them to achieve their goal.

Applicants must be a citizen or a permanent resident of the United States or Canada. Students will need to submit a maximum 150-word biography along with a 500-750 word essay on the essay topic listed on the website.

Applicants must submit a 250+ word blog on the importance of being able to communicate in multiple languages for today's multi-national companies, and the benefits it can bring to those businesses that make the effort to localize their website content. Winners are selected based on quality of writing, number of blog views, and number of retweets with a blog link. Special consideration given to applicants majoring in English.

 

Liberty Scholarship & Leadership Program

Award: $7,500, Deadline: July 15

Applicants must be a high school senior or an undergraduate student and be a citizen of the U.S. Students will need to record a 3-5 minute video speech on the given topic. In addition to the scholarship funds, the top 30 applicants will have their speeches featured in a National Library Museum exhibit for an entire year and will also be awarded various internship and CEO mentoring opportunities.
