Scholarships in Transportation Logistics

NDTA Scott /St. Louis Chapter Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a high school student who lives in Illinois or Missouri; college student applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited institution in a state within the NDTA's Central Region (CO, IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, MN, MO, MT, ND, NE, SD, WI, WY). Award looks to promote careers in business, physical distribution, and transportation logistics.

 

Jim Snead Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of Alaska who is pursuing post-secondary education with a focus on international business, transportation, or a related industry.

 

North American Van Lines Logistics Scholarship Competition

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, enrolled full-time as an undergraduate at an eligible educational institution. Funds must be used for qualified educational expenses. Students should be pursuing a degree in logistics or supply chain management. Applicants will need to submit a 400-800 word essay on why they selected a career in logistics/supply chain management. The essay should convey a sincere, personalized tone.

 

Recycling Research Foundation's National Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicants must be pursuing a graduate level degree, be a U.S. citizen and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. The program is open to those seeking a graduate degree in a program that supports the scrap processing and recycling industry as a whole. The industry itself is both labor and mechanically intensive as scrap processors take old and new metals, paper, rubber, plastic, glass and more, and sort it into established grades which are highly sought after by manufacturers. The challenges of recycling on the scale of 200 billion pounds a year has given rise to new and innovative technologies as the recycling industry adapts to an ever changing marketplace of goods.

 

Leadership Legacy Scholarship for Graduates

Award: $5,000, Deadline: October 17

Applicants must be women enrolled in graduate studies in transportation or the related fields of engineering, planning, finance or logistics. Selection is based on the applicant's academic record, transportation-related activities or job skills and specific transportation goals. Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher is required.

 

Junior College/Trade School Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 17

Applicants must be women enrolled in an associate or technical program in transportation or the related fields of engineering, planning, finance or logistics. Selection is based on the applicant's academic record, transportation-related activities or job skills and specific transportation goals. Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher is required.

 

Diane Woodend Jones Leadership Legacy Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 17

Applicants must be women enrolled in graduate studies in transportation or the related fields of engineering, planning, finance or logistics. Selection is based on the applicant's academic record, transportation-related activities or job skills and specific transportation goals. Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher is required.

 

Eisenhower Transportation Fellowship

Applicants must be U. S. citizens and enrolled in their Junior, Senior or Graduate year at Alabama A&M University. Students must use funds toward a research-based transportation-related degree and plan to enter the transportation profession after completing their higher level education.
