Harriet and Leon Pomerance Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a United States or Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or be actively pursuing an advanced degree at a North American college or university. Fellowship is to support an individual project related to Aegean Bronze Age archaeology. Preference is given to candidates whose project requires travel to the Mediterranean.

 

Anna C. and Oliver C. Colburn Fellowship

Award: $11,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident and must apply to and be accepted as an incoming associate member or student associate member of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. Applicant may not be a member of the American School during the year of application. Fellowship is to support studies undertaken at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens, Greece for not more than one year.

 

Electrochemical Society Summer Fellowship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: January 1

Applicant must be enrolled in a recognized college or university in the U.S. or Canada. Selection is based upon academic record, letter of recommendation, and personal statement. Award is for summer study and/or research. Recipient may not hold other appointments or fellowships.

 

International Student Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must hold legal, non-immigrant status and be an international student. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, clearly defined degree goals, and meet all regular admissions requirements. Outstanding academic performance will be recognized.

 

Depan International Freshman Transfer Student Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be on a student or scholar visa. Selection is based upon academic achievement, English proficiency, and evidence of community service or activity. English proficiency and evidence of community service or activity are required.

 

International Student Award

Award: $7,500, Deadline: April 1 (Priority)

Applicant must be an international student on a student visa, have a minimum TOEFL score of 550, and have an exceptional academic record.

 

International Student Scholarship

Award: $24,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a resident of a country other than the United States.

 

Bacon Family Foundation Foreign Student Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 21

Applicant must be an international student, be enrolled full time, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate financial need.

 

Communication Contest for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Award: $1,500, Deadline: June 15

Within twelve years of winning award, applicant must be currently enrolled in a college, university or trade school to redeem the funds. Contest is open to young people through grade 12 in the U.S. and Canada, to CEGEP in Quebec and grade 13 in the Caribbean, who are recognized by their school as deaf or hard of hearing. Applicants attending either public school or schools providing special services are eligible to enter if criteria are met.

 

Essay Contest

Award: $6,000, Deadline: Feb 28

Applicant must be under 19 years of age as of December 31, of the current school year, and be attending school in the U.S., Canada, or Jamaica. Within twelve years of winning award, applicant must be enrolled in a college, university or trade school to redeem the funds.

 

Oratorical Contest

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March

Applicant must be attending school in the U.S., Canada, or Jamaica, and must not have reached the age of 18 by October 1 of the current school year. Within twelve years of winning award, applicant must be currently enrolled in a college, university or trade school to redeem the funds.

 

Leaven International Student Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 1 (Priority)

Applicant must be an international student, have a minimum TOEFL score of 530, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be active in high school or college community.

 

Mary M. Vergis Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a woman, single, a member in good standing for at least two years of Daughters of Penelope or of Maids of Athena or the daughter of an Ahepan or Daughter of Penelope, a resident of the U.S., Canada, or Greece, and be enrolled for at least nine units per academic year. Selection is based upon scholastic records and extracurricular activities.

 

Connie & Robert T. Gunter Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicants must be full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing engineering or technology. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours and be seeking a career in manufacturing engineering or technology. A minimum 3.5 GPA is required.

 

Lucille B. Kaufman Women's Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a female full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing engineering, technology, or a closely related field in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, have completed a minimum of 30 college credits and, be seeking a career in manufacturing engineering or manufacturing technology.

 

ASABE Foundation Engineering Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must have a declared major in biological or agricultural engineering accredited by ABET or CEAB in the United States or Canada and have completed at least one year of undergraduate study and have at least one year of undergraduate study remaining from the time of application. Applicant must have a special interest in agricultural machinery product design and development. Minimum 2.5 GPA and financial need are required.

 

Eldon Foote Track and Field Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: July 5

Applicant must be an Alberta resident with a minimum entrance average of 80%, be a graduate of an Alberta high school, and plan to become a member of the Pandas or Golden Bears track and field teams.

 

Universiade '83 Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: October 15

Applicant must be an Alberta resident who has demonstrated excellence in the fine arts or athletics combined with superior academic achievement.

 

Medical Student Loan

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a medical student obtaining a M.D. or D.O. degree. Applicant must have established permanent ties to Broome County, NY, and be attending an accredited medical or osteopathic institution in the United States or Canada.

 

George Collins Fellowship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: September 5

Award is to support travel costs for international scholars who are speakers at the Annual Conference of the Society.

 

Swann Foundation Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 24

Applicant must be a candidate for an M.A. or Ph.D. degree in an accredited graduate program in a university in the United States, Canada, or Mexico working toward the completion of a dissertation or thesis for that degree, or be engaged in post-graduate research within three years of receiving an M.A. or Ph.D. Although research must be in the field of caricature and cartoon, there is no limitation regarding the place or time period covered.

 

President's Entrance Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 14

Applicant must be a Canadian resident with a minimum grade average of 90. Applicant must be selected by his or her secondary school. Selection is based upon broad interests and leadership qualities. Essay required.

 

Faculty Entrance Scholarship

T.R. Meighen Foundation Entrance Scholarship for Students from Atlantic Canada

Award: $3,500, Deadline: February 14

Applicant must be a resident of Atlantic Canada with a demonstrated ability for creative and innovative thought, a passion for learning, and exceptional achievement and leadership in extracurricular activities. Applicant must have either a minimum grade average of 90 or rank in the top tenth of class.

 

Elizabeth and James McKenzie Andrews Bursary

Award: $5,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be an Alberta, Canada resident and have a minimum 2.6 GPA. Applicant must demonstrate academic merit and financial need. Award is in Canadian dollars.

 

S.M. Blair Family Foundation Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a Native Canadian (status Indian, non-status Indian, Metis, Inuit) who attended high school in a Western Canadian province, Yukon, the Northwest Territory, or Nunavut and has a minimum 3.2 GPA. Selection is based upon academic merit and extracurricular activities involving contribution to the native community.

 

Lee Haskayne Bursary

Award: $4,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must have a minimum 2.6 GPA. Selection is based upon academic merit, extracurricular activities, and financial need. Preference is given to applicants who are graduates of rural Canadian high schools and intend to live in university residence during their first year.

 

E. Wayne Kay Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student with a minimum 3.0 GPA, who is enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing engineering, technology, or a closely related field in the United States or Canada.

 

Family Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least one parent or grandparent who has been an SME member in good standing for the last two years (includes step-mothers and step-fathers). Applicant may either be a graduating high school senior or an undergraduate student with up to 30 completed credit hours in the pursuit of a degree in manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology, or a closely related engineering field of study at an accredited college or university the United States or Canada. Selection is based upon overall academic excellence, communication skills, interpersonal skills, demonstrated interest and aptitude for potential future success in a manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology, or closely related field, and extracurricular activities.

 

Chapter 105 - Memphis - Les Segar Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be seeking an associate's degree or bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing technology, or a closely related field of study. First preference will be given to residents of Tennessee. Second preference will be given to applicants who are seeking their education from the University of Memphis. Third preference will be given to applicants who are seeking their education from a college of university in the state of Tennessee.
