Frederick Burkhardt Residential Fellowship for Recently Tenured Students

Award: $75,000, Deadline: October 2

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Award is intended to support an academic year of residence at any national residential research centers. Program encourages exchanges across disciplinary lines that can be especially helpful to deepening and expanding the significance of projects in the humanities and related social sciences. Olivia James Traveling Fellowship

Award: $25,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. Preference is given to projects of at least a half year's duration and to students of the archaeology, architecture, classics, history, and sculpture. Award is for travel and study in the Aegean Islands, Asia Minor, Greece, Mesopotamia, Sicily, or southern Italy and is not intended to support field excavation projects.

 

Harriet and Leon Pomerance Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a United States or Canadian citizen or permanent resident, or be actively pursuing an advanced degree at a North American college or university. Fellowship is to support an individual project related to Aegean Bronze Age archaeology. Preference is given to candidates whose project requires travel to the Mediterranean.

 

Anna C. and Oliver C. Colburn Fellowship

Award: $11,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident and must apply to and be accepted as an incoming associate member or student associate member of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens. Applicant may not be a member of the American School during the year of application. Fellowship is to support studies undertaken at the American School of Classical Studies in Athens, Greece for not more than one year.

 

Helen M. Woodruff Fellowship

NEH Fellowship

Applicant must be an academic, museum, or independent scholar, and be a U.S. citizen or have been a U.S. resident for at least three years. Award is not for dissertation research. Award is a residential research fellowship in Winterthur's library and museum collections.

 

National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Fellowship

Award: $25,200, Deadline: February 1

One four- to six-month fellowship for scholars who have a Ph.D. or have completed their professional training. Social and political scientists are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or foreign nationals living in the U.S. three years immediately preceding the application deadline.

CAARI Senior Scholar In Residence

The Senior Scholar in Residence (SSR) program is designed to further the development of young scholars and students through daily, informal contact with an established scholar. The presence of a senior scholar in residence at the CAARI hostel provides many opportunities for meeting and working with other residents. Applicant must have a PhD in archaeology or an ancillary field for at least five years prior to the visit. Fluency in English required.

Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Archaeology of Portugal Fellowship

Applicant must be a doctoral or other post-graduate student with an interest in the archaeology of Portugal. International scholars are invited to apply. Fellowship is to support projects pertaining to the archaeology of Portugal. These include, but are not limited to research projects, colloquia, symposia, publication, and travel for research or to academic meetings for the purpose of presenting papers on the archaeology of Portugal

 

AIA/DAI Fellowship for Study in Berlin

Applicant must be a member of the AIA working in a North American institution. Award supports research at the DAI in Berlin, Germany.
