TD Canada Trust Scholarship Program for Outstanding Community Leadership

Award: $10,000, Deadline: October 31

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident graduating from his or her last year of high school (and/or CGEP in Quebec) and must have demonstrated outstanding community leadership.

Arctic Physical Therapy Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: August 31

Applicant must be a resident of the United States or Canada who is plans to attend or is currently attending a college or university by next January. Minimum 3.0 GPA and essay on the following topic required: Describe at least three ways physical therapy can make a difference in an individual's ability to live an active, healthy lifestyle.

Lift Parts Express Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be a legal resident of the United States or Canada who is a high school senior with plans to enroll in college by this fall or a current freshman or sophomore college student. Minimum 3.0 GPA and essay required.

Caretenders Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a Canadian resident who will be attending a college, university, trade, or technical school this fall in British Columbia or Ontario. Essay answering questions regarding your thoughts on retirement is required.

Got A Spine Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: June 2

Applicant must be a United States or Canadian resident who will be attending a college or university in the United States or Canada as a full-time student no later than this October. Minimum 2.5 GPA and essay on the topic of chronic back pain and chiropractic medicine are required.

Odenza Vacations College Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a resident of the United States or Canada who is between the ages of 17 and 24. Minimum 2.5 GPA and essay on the following question required: Why do you want to go to college?

MCO Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, or junior student at a college or university as a full-time student no later than this December. Essay required.

Odenza Marketing Group Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 30

Applicant must be a United States or Canadian resident who is a current high school student or is a college student who has at least one full-year of post-secondary studies remaining at the time of the award. Minimum 2.5 GPA and essay on the following topic required: Choose a city located anywhere in the world that you believe would, from a future employment prospective, benefit your career. Explain how spending time in this city would help you become more marketable to a potential employer(s).

AUCC Scholarship Program For Students With Disabilities

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a disabled Canadian citizen or a permanent resident for at least two years who is enrolled full-time at a Canadian degree-granting institution or a community college where he or she is following a degree program under the college-university transfer system.

National Vocal Competition for Young Opera Singers

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January (New York auditions); March (Los Angeles auditions)

Applicant must be a female between the ages of 21-33 or a male between the ages of 21-35, who is trained in opera singing and is looking to further their career in the opera. Applicant must be a resident of the U.S. or Canada.

Fellowship for Full-Time Studies in French

Award: $1,000, Deadline: November 15

Applicants must be Alberta residents, Canadian Citizens or Landed Immigrants, and plan to register full-time in a post-secondary program of at least one semester in length. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of three courses per semester which have French as the language of instruction.

Ralph Steinhauer Award of Distinction

Award: $20,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a Canadian resident who intends to enroll at an Alberta institution.

Persons Case Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: September 30

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen and resident of Alberta studying in a field that will contribute to the advancement of women, or in a field where members of his or her sex are traditionally underrepresented. Selection is based upon program of studies, academic ability and financial need. Award may only be used at an institution in Alberta, Canada.

Sir James Lougheed Award of Distinction

Award: $20,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a resident of Alberta and a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident. Selection is based upon academic ability.

ATU Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be an ATU member in good standing or the child or stepchild of a deceased member who was in good standing at the time of death, and be planning to enter their first year of post-secondary education for the first time. One Canadian and four U.S. scholarships will be awarded each year.

Tony Leisner Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen who is currently working in a library and has at least one year of library experience. Selection is based upon academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to a career in librarianship.

NDS/Klussendorf Scholarships

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must demonstrate leadership, participation in extracurricular activities, and special interest and ability in showing dairy cattle in their best natural form. Official transcript showing all courses required.

Bourse Georgette LeMoyne

Award: $7,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a woman who is a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant attending a Canadian university and studying in French.

C.D. Howe Scholarship

Award: $5,500, Deadline: May 30

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and be graduating or have graduated within the last year, with a minimum grade average of A- in his or her top OAC's or Grade 13 subjects. Applicant must be a resident of Thunder Bay or one of the following school boards: Lakehead, Lakehead District Roman Catholic, Lake Superior, North of Superior District Roman Catholic Separate School, Geraldton, Geraldton District Roman Catholic Separate School, Nipigon-Red Rock, Hornepayne. Award amount is in Canadian dollars. Award may be used at Canadian degree-granting institutions only.

Margaret Dale Philp Award

Award: $3,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a woman who is a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant who is enrolled in a graduate studies program in the humanities or social sciences. Special consideration is given to study in Canadian history only as a deciding factor, all else being equal. Applicant must reside in Canada.

Walter International Student Scholarship

Award: $9,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a non-U.S. resident, meet all INS requirements for attending college in U.S., and prove financial support for need not covered by award.

Praxair International Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a United States or Canadian citizen who is at least 18 years old and enrolled as a full-time student in the United States or Canada. Applicant must be majoring in a field of welding engineering and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection based upon leadership abilities.

Canadian Home Economics Association (CHEA) Fellowship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a woman who is a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant and is attending a Canadian university. Applicant must be studying one or more aspects in the field of home economics at the masters or doctoral level.

Beverley Jackson Fellowship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a woman, over the age of 35, who is a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant and is attending an Ontario University.

Barra Foundation International Fellowship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must submit curriculum vitae, a two- to four-page description of proposed research, and one letter of recommendation. Award is to be used for research in residence. Applicant must be a non-U.S. citizen residing outside the U.S.

Marvin Mundel Memorial Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: November 15

Applicant must be attending an institution in the U.S., Canada, or Mexico that is accredited by an agency recognized by IIE. Preference given to applicants who demonstrate an interest in work measurement and methods engineering.

Fred & Ginger Deines Canada Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen and enrolled at a college or university in Canada or the U.S. Selection is based upon scholastic ability, potential, professional interest, character, and financial need.

Janet and Horace Allen Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be the top science graduate from Crowsnest Pass High School, and must be an Alberta resident.

Airgas - Terry Jarvis Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a United States or Canadian citizen who is enrolled in a welding engineering discipline with a minimum 2.8 GPA.

RWMA Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a college junior with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who has taken a course in resistance welding.
