The Margaret McNamara Memorial Fund Grant

Award: $12,000, Deadline: January 9

Applicant must be a woman who has a record of service to women and children and a commitment to improve the lives of women and children in developing countries. Applicant must be enrolled at an accredited United States or Canadian educational institution and who intends to continue to be enrolled. Applicant must be planning to return to her country within two years of completing use of the MMMF grant and perform at least two years of service. Financial need and satisfactory academic performance must be demonstrated.

 

Global Citizen Scholarship Program

Award: $30,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a college freshman or sophomore who is an international student (not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident); preference granted to high school students in their graduating year. Selection based upon academic excellence, school/community leadership, extra-curricular involvement/service, and a commitment to global citizenship. Financial need is considered.

 

Global Citizen International Awards

Award: $10,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a college freshman or sophomore who is an international student (not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident); preference granted to high school students in their graduating year. Selection based upon academic excellence, school/community leadership, extra-curricular involvement/service, and a commitment to global citizenship. Financial need is considered.

Applicant must be an international undergraduate with a minimum 2.5 GPA.

 

Walter International Student Scholarship

Award: $9,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a non-U.S. resident, meet all INS requirements for attending college in U.S., and prove financial support for need not covered by award.

 

Barra Foundation International Fellowship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must submit curriculum vitae, a two- to four-page description of proposed research, and one letter of recommendation. Award is to be used for research in residence. Applicant must be a non-U.S. citizen residing outside the U.S.

 

International Student Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must hold legal, non-immigrant status and be an international student. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, clearly defined degree goals, and meet all regular admissions requirements. Outstanding academic performance will be recognized.

 

Depan International Freshman Transfer Student Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be on a student or scholar visa. Selection is based upon academic achievement, English proficiency, and evidence of community service or activity. English proficiency and evidence of community service or activity are required.

 

International Student Award

Award: $7,500, Deadline: April 1 (Priority)

Applicant must be an international student on a student visa, have a minimum TOEFL score of 550, and have an exceptional academic record.

Applicant must be an international student, have a minimum TOEFL score of 530, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be active in high school or college community.

 

George Collins Fellowship

Award is to support travel costs for international scholars who are speakers at the Annual Conference of the Society.

President's International Scholar Award

Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student, maintain a residence outside of New York and international student status, maintain normal academic progress, live in a university residence hall, and maintain a 3.0 GPA. The Director of International Education will choose the award recipients based on their admissions application and transcript.

 

International Masters/Professional Fellowship

Award: $18,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a women who is not a United States citizen or permanent resident. Award is for full-time study or research in the United States.

Applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA, be enrolled in at least 12 credits per semester, and come from a country other than the U.S. or Canada.

 

AAFCS-Kittrell International Graduate Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 9

Applicant must be a minority graduate student from the United States pursuing study in another nation or an international graduate student pursing a degree in family and consumer sciences in the United States, with preference for a student from a developing nation.

 

D. Elizabeth Williams International Graduate Fellowship

Applicant must be an international student who desires to study family and consumer sciences in the United States, preferably at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

 

Ethel L. Parker International Graduate Fellowship

Applicant must be a FCS graduate student from the United States who participates in international study or an international graduate student who studies family and consumer sciences in the U.S.

 

Helen Strow International Graduate Fellowship

Applicant must be an international student who is working to complete a graduate degree (applicants who live in countries that only offer two-year degree programs in family and consumer sciences can apply to complete a baccalaureate degree in the United States) in family and consumer sciences in the United States.

 

Exxon Mobil Middle East and North Africa Scholars Program

Applicant must hold at least a bachelor's degree in geoscience, engineering, physics, chemistry, computer science, math, or geography. Applicant must be able to demonstrate a history of academic excellence and native fluency in Arabic, demonstrate English proficiency, exhibit exceptional leadership skills and cultural competency, be willing and able to travel to a regional location for a final selection activity, and be willing and able to reside in the United States for the full duration of study. Award is to assist in the completion of a master's or Ph.D. degree.

 

International Baccalaureate Scholarship

Applicant must be admitted to The University of Tampa by May 1 and have at least three passes on advanced level International Baccalaureate exams and an International Baccalaureate diploma.

 

Travel Video Contest

Applicant must be 18 years of age or older who is already enrolled or planning to enroll in a college or university outside of their home country. If applicant is currently studying outside of their home country, their video can describe any trip they would like to take. If applicant is not currently studying outside of their home country, their entry must describe theirproposed study abroad.
