Applicant must reside in Sevier County, Tenn., and demonstrate financial need. Academic performance may be considered.

 

Cochran-McDonald Scholarship

Applicant must be employed by a Cochran-family-operated McDonald's restaurant and have a good work record and a recommendation from the manager. Financial need may be considered. Preference is given to freshmen and applicants demonstrating academic excellence.

 

Rehabilitation Corp. of Tennessee Scholarship

Applicant must be a Tennessee resident from a rural area with an agricultural background. Selection is based upon background activities, financial need, and sincere desire to work.

 

King and Johnson Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school graduate and resident of Tennessee, show promise in architecture, and demonstrate financial need. Award includes internship employment with King and Johnson Architects, Inc.

 

Eastman Kodak Scholarship

Applicant must be the child of an Eastman Kodak employee, be a U.S. citizen, rank in top quarter of class, and be a National Merit scholar. Selection is based upon academic excellence without regard to financial need.

Tennessee Higher Education Commission Scholarship

Applicant must be a minority with a minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum composite ACT score of 19 (combined SAT I score of 750).

 

Procter & Gamble Minority Scholarship

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is a sophomore, junior, or senior enrolled in the Judith Herb College of Education, majoring in elementary and/or early childhood education with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Selection is primarily based upon financial need. Extracurricular and community activities may be considered particularly past or current involvement in church-related activities. Law Enforcement Officers and Fireman Scholarship

Applicant must be the spouse or child of a full-time Mississippi law enforcement officer or firefighter who was fatally injured or totally disabled from injuries that occurred in the line of duty. Applicant must attend a Mississippi public college or university. Children are eligible until age 23.

 

National Oratorical Contest Scholarship

Award: $19,000, Deadline: December

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident under 20 years of age, must be attending high school or junior high, and must compete in the American Legion oratorical contest at the national level. Award must be used at a college or university in the U.S. for actual school costs, including tuition, room and board, fees, and books.

 

American Legion Eagle Scout of the Year

Applicant must be the son or grandson of an American Legion or auxiliary member and must be either an Eagle Scout who has received a scout religious emblem, a registered active member of a Boy Scout troop or Varsity Scout team sponsored by an American Legion post or auxiliary unit, or a registered active member of a duly chartered Boy Scout troop or Varsity Scout team.

 

Big Thursday Golf Tournament Inc. Annual Scholarship

James Roy Carter Jr. Endowed Presidential Scholarship

Applicant must be a South Carolina resident. Preference is given to residents of Chester, Lancaster, or York counties.

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. First priority is given to a graduate of Tamassee-Salem High School who resided at Tamassee DAR School in Tamassee, S.C., or a graduate of the Kate Duncan Smith DAR School in Grant, Ala. Next preference goes to the child of a member in good standing of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Written documentation of eligibility is required.
