L. Phil Wicker Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least a general class radio license and be attending school in the ARRL Roanoke Division (North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia). Preference is given to residents of North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia.

 

Paul and Helen L. Grauer Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least a novice class radio license and be attending school in the ARRL Midwest Division (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska). Preference is given to residents of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska and to applicants majoring in communications, electronics, or a related subject.

 

Perry F. Hadlock Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least a technician class radio license. Preference is given to students majoring in electronic engineering who are members of the ARRL Atlantic and Hudson divisions.

 

ARRL Scholarship Honoring Senator Barry Goldwater, K7UGA

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have at least a novice class radio license and be attending a regionally accredited institution.

 

AH&LEF Annual Scholarship Grant

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1

Application and selection process is completed through the individual institution.

 

Jennifer C. Groot Fellowship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen participating in an archaeological excavation in Jordan.

 

Gladys Brown Edwards Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must have an ongoing interest in and commitment to Arabian horses.

 

Congressional Internship

Award: $3,750, Deadline: November 4 (spring); February 3 (summer); April 27 (fall)

Applicant must be a United States or permanent resident who is currently enrolled as a full-time student working towards their undergraduate degree. Applicant must be able to demonstrate high academic achievement (preference of 3.0 GPA or above), strong analytical and writing skills, and active participation in public and/or community service activities. Internship is for paid Congressional work placement on Capitol Hill for a period of 12 weeks.

 

Danish Sisterhood of America Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicant must be a Danish Sisterhood of America member or the child of a member. Selection is based upon academic achievement.

 

Summer Student Fellowships

Award: $2,100, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be an undergraduate, graduate, or medical student who is interested in pursuing eye-related clinical or basic research.

 

Finlandia Foundation Trust Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a U.S. or Finnish college student.

 

Schuyler S. Pyle Award

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be the dependent child or spouse of a member in good standing of the Fleet Reserve Association or a member in good standing at time of death. Selection is based upon financial need, scholastic standing, character, and leadership qualities.

 

FRA Non-Member Scholarship Program

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant or applicant's sponsor must be an FRA non-member, living, on active duty, reserve, retired, or honorably discharged veteran of the Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard. Applicant must be an FRA non-member; spouse; dependent biological/step/adoptive child; or biological/step/adoptive grandchild of the FRA non-member. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, registered as a full-time student in an accredited college located in the United States.

 

FRA Member Scholarship Program

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant or applicant's sponsor must be a member in good standing of the FRA (currently or at time of death) or the spouse; dependent biological/step/adoptive child; or biological/step/adoptive grandchild of an FRA member. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is registered as a full-time student in an accredited U.S. college or university.

 

LA FRA Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be the daughter or granddaughter of a Naval, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard service member, active Fleet Reserve, Fleet Marine Corps Reserve, or Coast Guard Reserve, who is retired with pay or deceased. Selection is based upon financial need, scholarship proficiency, and character. Other factors being equal, preference is given to an applicant who is a dependent of members of the FRA and/or LA FRA.

 

National Zoological Park Traineeship in Landscaping

Award: $3,000, Deadline: December 31

Selection is based upon statement of interest, scholarship achievement, relevant experience, and letters of reference. Preference is given to advanced undergraduates and recent graduates.

 

National Zoological Park Traineeship in Public Affairs

Award: $3,000, Deadline: December 31

Selection is based upon statement of interest, scholastic achievement, relevant experience, and letters of reference. Preference is given to applicants who have some computer skills and a desire to develop support for multicultural zoo audiences and to advanced undergraduates and recent graduates.

 

Youth Scholarship Fund of IBHA, Inc.

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a member of IBHA who has participated in IBHA Youth events for a minimum of two years. Applicant must be under the age of 22 with excellent test scores, strong recommendations, and participation in school/community activities.

 

Fraternal College Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: January 1

Applicant must be a beneficial member of Modern Woodmen of America for at least two years and be in the top half of graduating class. Selection is based upon character, leadership, academic activities, extracurricular activities, and scholastic records.

 

Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must submit three to 10 pages of poetry.

 

Billy Welu Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be actively involved in bowling (college team, coaching, etc.) and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Seneca Nation of Indians Scholarship

Applicant must be an enrolled member of the Seneca Nation of Indians who is matriculated in a degree-granting program.

 

Dr. Charles A. Preuss Medical Award

Applicant must be a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon who is attending or will attend medical school and has demonstrated community service.

 

Jones-Laurence Award

Applicant must be a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon who has demonstrated oustanding academic achievement.

 

Sigma Xi Grant-in-Aid of Research

Award: $5,000, Deadline: October 15; March 15

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student. Funds may used to support scientific investigation in any field.

 

Raymond Davis Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 15

Grant is made for academic study or research in the theory or practice of image science. Applicant must be a full-time student who has completed or will complete two academic years of college before the term of the scholarship.

 

Caterpillar Scholars Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a manufacturing engineering degree program in the United States or Canada who has completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours and is looking for a career in manufacturing engineering. Preference will be given to students who have participated in a STEPS camp.

 

Myrtle and Earl Walker Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing engineering or technology in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, have completed a minimum of 15 college credit hours or one semester, and be seeking a career in manufacturing engineering or technology.

 

Clinton J. Helton Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a degree program in manufacturing engineering, technology or related field of study at Colorado State University or the University of Colorado (all campuses). Applicant must have completed a minimum of 30 college credit hours and be looking for a career in manufacturing engineering or manufacturing engineering technology. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.
