GSCAA Scholars Competition

Award: $3,500, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must have completed at least the first year of a collegiate turfgrass management program and be planning a career as a golf course superintendent. Selection is based upon academic excellence, extracurricular activities, and recommendations from college advisors and golf course superintendents or other employers. International students attending a US institution may also apply.

 

Rockefeller State Wildlife Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: July 1

Applicant must have earned 60 or more hours of graded college credit with a cumulative 2.5 GPA. If applicant is enrolled in a post-graduate program in an eligible college or university as a full-time student, applicant must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA on all credits earned in graduate school and be pursuing a graduate degree in forestry, wildlife, or marine science as it pertains to wildlife.

 

Islamic Development Bank Loan Program

Award: $15,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is under the age of 24 and has confirmed admission into a professional degree program. Applicant must be majoring in one of the following areas of study: agriculture, dentistry, economics, engineering, food technology, forestry/fishery, media, medical technology, medicine, nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, political science, social science, or veterinary medicine. High academic achievement and financial need are required. Recipient must not be in receipt of any other loan.

 

Sharp Academic Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must plan to pursue a major in a forestry related field. Minimum composite ACT score of 31 required. Selection based upon ACT scores and high school academic record.

 

Freehold Soil Conservation Scholarship (Neal W. Munch, Marvin 'Mac' Clark and William Schauer Scholarships)

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 25

Applicant must be a resident of Middlesex or Monmouth County, NJ, who is majoring in a field related to natural resources.

 

Arnold Magoon Conservation Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Vermont who will pursue a degree in biology, conservation, ecology, fish and game management, forestry, or a related field. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Edward S. Moore Foundation Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 31

Applicant must be a South Carolina resident.

 

James Roy Carter Jr. Endowed Presidential Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a South Carolina resident. Preference is given to residents of Chester, Lancaster, or York counties.

 

Ottis and Calista Causey Endowed Scholarship

Award: $2,800, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.

 

W.L. Abernathy Jr. Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a South Carolina resident and have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.

 

Charles E. Springs Annual Forestry Scholarship

Award: $1,250, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a South Carolina resident from a designated rural area as defined by the Farmers' Home Administration, have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate financial need.

 

James William Byrd Endowed Memorial Scholarship

Award: $800, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.

 

Hardin, Keitt, Hinton Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.

 

Truman D. Picard Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 18

Applicant must have validated enrollment in a federally recognized Native American tribe or Native Alaska Corporation. Three letters of recommendation, letter of application, transcript, resume, and proof of application to an institution of higher education are required. Minimum award amount is for graduating high school seniors and maximum award amount is for college students.

 

Cleaveland Scholarship for Excellence in Forestry

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 31

Selection is based upon admission application.

 

Joseph Pledger Hodges Jr. Annual Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a resident of Marlboro County, S.C. and have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA. Financial need is considered.

 

Koloman Lehotsky Memorial Scholarship

Award: $650, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA.

 

May Ervin Wall Memorial Scholarship

Award: $650, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a resident of South Carolina and have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA.

 

FFGC Scholarship in Garden Club Objectives

Award: $1,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a resident of Florida, will attend or is attending a Florida school, and must demonstrate financial need. Work transcript, personal letter, photo, letters of recommendation, and interview required.

 

FFGC Scholarship for High School Students

Award: $3,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a resident of Florida who will attend or is attending a Florida school, and is able to demonstrate financial need. Work transcript, personal letter, photo, letters of recommendation, and interview required.

 

ITT-Rayonier Foundation Senior Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 15

Selection is based upon leadership, scholarship, and financial need.

 

Wilse and Else Jennings Scholarship

Selection is based upon academic performance, professional potential, financial need, extracurricular activities, leadership, and goals/philosophies stated in application letter.

Shelley Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate student conducting research primarily on the production and utilization of hardwood forests in Florida.

 

Knights of Pythias Scholarship

Award: $1,880, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be an Arizona resident, demonstrate financial need by filing FAFSA, and have declared a major.

 

Associated Oregon Loggers Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be an Oregon high school senior who has been accepted to a four-year college or university education program in a forest resources production field of study.

Memorial Conservation Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a New Jersey resident who is a full-time student in good standing at an accredited college. Applicant must be an undergraduate enrolled in a major curriculum of agriculture or natural resource conservation, including agronomy, soil science, plant science, forestry, geography, journalism, agricultural education, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries management, environmental engineering, and other areas related to conservation.

 

Bartlett Tree Foundation Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: September 7

Applicant must rank in top third of secondary school class and have a minimum composite ACT score of 22. Transfer and upperclass applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must demonstrate an interest in a career in arboriculture or urban forestry.
