Scholarships in College Sophomore

Bill Kane Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: November 15

Applicant must be an undergraduate sophomore, junior, or senior (full-time) student majoring in health education at an accredited college/university in the U.S. Minimum 3.25 GPA, cover sheet, extracurricular activity, transcripts, essay, and three letters of recommendation required.

 

Frugal Student Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student. A brief essay that describes an inventive way you have earned or saved extra money is required. Only email submissions will be accepted.

 

IDDBA Undergraduate/Graduate Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 1; April 1; July 1; October 1

Applicant must be a high school senior, current college student, or returning college student studying a food-related field such as culinary arts, baking, business, food science, or marketing. Must be an employee of an IDDBA-member company (check qualifying companies here www.iddba.org) and work at least 13 hours a week. Minimum 2.5 GPA, transcript, and letter of reference required.

 

Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship

Applicant must be an outstanding performer who is an undergraduate, graduate, or continuing part-time student. Applicant is required to audition with a performance. There will be three rounds (preliminary, semifinal, and final). 16 regional and two national scholarships awarded.

 

Charles E. Blackwood Scholarship

Applicant must be an art student at Furman University who demonstrates financial need and shows a strong creative potential in visual arts. Portfolio and attendance at the Art Department's Portfolio Day required.

 

Thomas E. Flowers Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time art student at Furman University who has demonstrated quality work, exemplified high moral character, and shown academic promise. Portfolio and attendance at the Art Department's Portfolio Day required.

 

The Green "IS" Award

Award: $2,500, Deadline: December 31

Applicant must be a full-time high school student or a currently enrolled undergraduate student who is required to submit a three to five minute film on environmental issues that either: propose solutions to environmental issues that impact women and girls OR create awareness about environmental issues that impact women and girls.

 

Rosengren Kohlmeyer Law Office Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a resident of Minnesota who is a high school senior or college student pursuing a future career in law.

 

Making the Future Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who is enrolling or currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a career in a STEM field. Minimum 2.5 GPA and project required.

 

Generation Google Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a student from an underrepresented group (African American, Hispanic, American Indian, Female). Must intend to or be currently enrolled full-time at a university majoring in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or a related program. Must demonstrate leadership and commitment to computer science and technology through involvement with the community. Resume, transcripts, four essay responses, and two letters of reference required.

 

General Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 16

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at a U.S. college/university who is planning to study abroad for at least four weeks.

 

Hiliary Echo Douglas Memorial Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 16

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at a U.S. college/university who is planning to study abroad for at least four weeks. Must demonstrate a love for Vietnam and other cultures and show a desire to give back to the world community.

 

Rainbow Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 16

Applicant must be a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, or intersex (LGBTQI) student who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident planning to study abroad for at least four weeks.

 

BASAA Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 16

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at a U.S. college/university located in the Boston Area Study Abroad Association (BASAA) area; Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Connecticut. Must be planning to study abroad for at least four weeks.

 

Herb it Forward Scholarship - Honoring Excellence and Rewarding Benevolence

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 1

Applicant must be a resident of the United States between the ages of 17 and 25. Applicant must be graduating or have already graduated from high school and have been a Hope Paige customer within the last five years (or immediate family member). New customers are welcome until the deadline.

 

Timothy S Y Lam Foundation Education Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: November 15; May 15

Applicant must be an undergraduate, master's, or doctoral student over the age of 21 who is majoring in a hospitality-related course (ie. hotel management, concierge, conference management/event planning, catering, hospitality leadership/supervision, hospitality human resources, and wedding coordination/design).

 

Study Abroad Scholarship in New Zealand

Award: $15,000, Deadline: October 15

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is enrolled in a university and interested in studying abroad in New Zealand.

 

Texas Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 16

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who currently resides in Texas and is enrolled as an undergraduate student planning to study abroad for at least four weeks.

 

Minnesota Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who currently resides in Minnesota and is enrolled as an undergraduate student planning to study abroad for at least four weeks.

 

PDX Abroad Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who attends a college or university in Portland, Oregon. Must be planning to study abroad for at least four weeks.

 

LGBTQ Scholarship

Applicant must be a current or future leader in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ), and straight ally community from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington pursuing a post secondary education. Letter of recommendation and copy of transcript required. Resume and portfolio are optional.

 

California Community College Beverage Industry Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a California college student whose parents and/or grandparents are proprietors of, or employed by an individual or corporation holding a California liquor license. Two page essay required. Minimum 3.0 GPA required for transfer students.

 

Upperclassmen Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: July 1; December 1

Applicant must be a sophomore, junior, or senior college student who graduated from a high school in greater Middletown: Bishop Fenwick, Butler Tech, Edgewood, Franklin, Madison, Monroe, Middletown, and Middletown Christian High Schools. Graduates of a private school outside of the area must have lived in the Middletown, Edgewood, Franklin, Madison or Monroe public school districts. Academic success and financial need must be demonstrated. Two letters of recommendation required.

 

Frank and Ruth Bila Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 16

Applicant must a graduating high school senior, high school graduate, or current college/university student in Orange County between the ages of 17 and 30 who is pursuing a career in the field of restaurant or hotel management. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

PA Scholarship

Applicant must be a full-time student attending an accredited college or university in the U.S who have the intention to enter the game industry. Minimum 3.3 GPA required.

 

CourseHorse Learner's Scholarship

Applicant must be 25 years old or younger and a current or former high school student who will be attending a U.S. college or university. One page document or video describing a topic you're passionate about is required.
