Payzer Scholarship

Applicants must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited college or university with an emphasis on technical information and must intend to pursue a career in engineering, mathematics or the physical or biological sciences. Applicants must also be involved in school and community activities as well as aviation and be members of EAA.

 

Minnesota Academic Excellence Scholarship

Applicants must be Minnesota residents who have been admitted to a full-time program in an approved Minnesota college or university. Applicants must have demonstrated achievement in one of the following subjects: English or creative writing, fine arts, foreign language, math, science or social science.

 

Thomas H. Dunning, Sr., Memorial Scholarship

Award: $400, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.75 and be at least sophomores. Students must also be undergraduates seeking a degree in engineering, computer science or any of the pure sciences. Preference is first given to Tekes at Missouri University of Science and Technology.

 

Timothy L. Taschwer Scholarship

Applicants must have a GPA of at least 2.75 and be seeking an undergraduate degree in natural resources, earth sciences or similar fields.

 

Steven J. Muir Scholarship

Applicants must be sophomores or above and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Members must be seeking an undergraduate degree in engineering or another of the pure sciences. Applicants must have served as a chapter officer or committee chair; preference will be given to a member of the Beta-Eta Chapter.

 

Lambeth Family Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicants must be enrolled in a degree-granting program in business, computer science, engineering, mathematics or the natural sciences. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Society of American Military Engineers, Albuquerque Post Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicants must be high school seniors and residents of New Mexico. They must plan to enroll in a math, science or engineering undergraduate degree program. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership experiences at school, involvement in the community and financial need.

 

Gorgas Scholarship Competition

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 6

Applicants must be Alabama residents who are rising undergraduate freshman and have completed a scientific research project and an accompanying report of no more than 20 pages. They must have completed all college entrance requirements by October 1 of the year of application submission. Selection is based on the quality of the scientific research paper that is submitted as part of the application.

 

East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 10

Applicants must be U.S. graduate students enrolled in a research-oriented master's or Ph.D. program or college graduates enrolled in a joint bachelor's/master's program at a U.S. institution. Students must pursue studies in science, engineering and education research. The award provides summer research experience in Australia, China, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Singapore or Taiwan, a $5,000 stipend, round-trip airfare, living expenses and orientation in Washington, DC.

 

Mikkelson Foundation Student Scholarship Program

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 14

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors at a Colorado high school and must have plans to study engineering, mathematics or science at an accredited four-year postsecondary institution. They must be enrolled in college beginning in the fall of the application year, have an unweighted GPA of 3.7 or higher and have a composite ACT score of 28 or higher or a cumulative SAT score of 1200 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

STEM Scholarship Program

Award: $500, Deadline: January 1

Applicants must be full-time students in a college, university or vocational school program pursuing a degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) related field. Students will submit a 500-1,500 word essay on one of the following: how technology affects the future, how electricity has changed the world or how technology has impacted your life.

 

Davidson Fellows Scholarships

Award: $50,000, Deadline: February 12

Applicants must be under the age of 18 and be able to attend the awards reception in Washington, DC. In addition to the monetary award, the institute will pay for travel and lodging expenses. Three nominator forms, three copies of a 15-minute DVD and additional materials are required.

 

Hertz Foundation's Graduate Fellowship Award

Award: -, Deadline: October 28

Applicants must be college seniors planning to pursue or graduate students currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the applied physical and engineering sciences or modern biology which applies the physical sciences. Successful applicants must attend one of the foundation's approved schools. The award is based on merit, creativity and potential for research.

 

SMART Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: December

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, 18 or older, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be able to participate in summer internships at the Department of Defense (DoD) and be willing to accept post-graduate work at the DoD. The award includes payment of full tuition, a stipend, a book allowance and room and board.

 

The Boeing Company STEM Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 16

Applicants must be a junior or senior enrolled at an ICW member institution at the time of the award and be involved with community service. A GPA of 3.25 is required and applicants must be majoring in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, a health care field or be preparing to teach in a STEM field.

 

Chuck Reville, K3FT Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicants must be licensed amateur radio enthusiasts who are enrolled full-time in a bachelor's degree program in engineering or physical science. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

Graduate Research Fellowship Program

Award: $44,000, Deadline: November 4

Applicants must be full-time students who have completed no more than 12 months of graduate study and be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals or permanent residents. The fields of study are interdisciplinary, computer and information science and engineering, mathematical sciences, geosciences, psychology, social sciences, life sciences, chemistry, physics and astronomy and engineering.

 

Women in Aerospace Foundation Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: June 21

Applicants must be women pursuing degrees in either engineering, math or science who are rising seniors in college. Students must have a 3.0 GPA.

 

Women in STEM Scholarship/BHW Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicants must be incoming freshman or currently enrolled female students pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree. Students must be majoring in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. school and submit an essay along with their completed application.
