Applicant must be undertaking research on the Edmund Niles Huyck Preserve and the surrounding region. Applicants must submit a research proposal. Write for an application package.

 

Freehold Soil Conservation Scholarship (Neal W. Munch, Marvin 'Mac' Clark and William Schauer Scholarships)

Applicant must be a resident of Middlesex or Monmouth County, NJ, who is majoring in a field related to natural resources.

 

Arnold Magoon Conservation Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Vermont who will pursue a degree in biology, conservation, ecology, fish and game management, forestry, or a related field. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Academic Year Internship

Award: -, Deadline: May 1 (fall); November 15 (spring); February 15 (summer)

Applicant must have completed at least two years of college. Summer interns receive a small stipend for the nine week program (pending funding from the museum). Internships are available in many departments.

 

Gilbert F. White Postdoctoral Fellowship

Applicant must have a doctorate degree. Teaching and/or research experience at the postdoctoral level is preferred.

 

Joseph L. Fisher Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship

Applicant must be a graduate student in their final year of dissertation research. Applicant must have completed the preliminary examinations for their doctorate prior to the application deadline.

 

Andrew W. Mellon Conservation Fellowship

Polaire Weissman Fund for Conservation Fellowship

Award: $22,500, Deadline: January 5

Applicant must be interested in a career in costume, and have an advanced level of study in costume conservation. Selection is based upon: full resume, a statement not to exceed one thousand words, describing what the applicant expects to accomplish and how the museum's facilities can be utilized to achieve their objectives, tentative work schedule, three letters of recommendation, at least one academic, and one professional, and an official transcript.

 

L.W. Frohlich Award

Award: $22,500, Deadline: January 5

Applicant must be a conservator, art historian, or scientist at an advanced level in his or her training and should be able to demonstrate commitment to the physical examination and treatment of art objects.

 

FFGC Scholarship in Garden Club Objectives

Award: $1,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a resident of Florida, will attend or is attending a Florida school, and must demonstrate financial need. Work transcript, personal letter, photo, letters of recommendation, and interview required.

 

National Zoological Park Traineeship in Genetics

Selection is based upon statement of interest, scholastic achievement, relevant experience, and letters of reference. Preference is given to advanced undergraduates, and recent graduates.

 

Decommissioning, Decontamination, and Reutilization Division Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or possess a permanent resident visa, be enrolled in an engineering or science discipline associated with decommissioning/decontamination of nuclear facilities or management/characterization of nuclear waste or restoration of the environment. Applicant must be sponsored by an ANS local section, division, student branch, committee member or organization member.

 

Memorial Conservation Scholarship

Applicant must be a New Jersey resident who is a full-time student in good standing at an accredited college. Applicant must be an undergraduate enrolled in a major curriculum of agriculture or natural resource conservation, including agronomy, soil science, plant science, forestry, geography, journalism, agricultural education, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries management, environmental engineering, and other areas related to conservation.

 

Sherman Fairchild Foundation Conservation Fellowship

Applicant must be a qualified candidate from the United States and abroad who have already reached an advanced level of training or experience.

 

Fellowship in Environmental Regulatory Implementation

Award is a one- or two-year research fellowship that documents the implementation and outcomes of environmental regulations.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Marion Soil and Water Conservation District Stan Vistica Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of a Marion County high school who will major in a natural resources field (agriculture, animal science, environmental science, forestry, natural resources, wildlife, etc.). FAFSA required.

 

Greg Andres North Dearborn Conservation Club Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: January 9

Applicant must be a graduating senior from East Central High School or Franklin County High School who will pursue a career as a conservation officer, law enforcement officer or a career in the medical field at an accredited vocational or two- or four-year institution of higher learning. Essay required.

 

Jessica Lynn Wantz Memorial 4-H

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 16

Applicant must be a resident of Henry County who has a ten year history with 4-H and will attend a two- or four-year college or university to study any field of science.

 

Jim Kibler Agriculture Fund

Award: $300, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be attending a college or vocational agri-business program in anticipation of a career in agricultural marketing, agricultural management, agriculture technology, animal sciences, farming or natural resources management.

 

John R. Rogers/Ziegler Family Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from John R. Rogers High School in Spokane, WA. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.
