Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Fellowship

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is enrolled full-time in an APA-accredited doctoral academic program. Applicant must be a member of an ethnic minority group (including but not limited to African American, Alaskan Native, American Indian, Asian American, Hispanic, or Pacific Islander) and/or demonstrate a commitment to a career in psychology related to ethnic minority populations.

 

SDE Fellowship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a woman who holds a degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, and is able to show documented evidence of outstanding ability and promise in research.

 

Elderhostel K. Patricia Cross Doctoral Research Grant

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a doctoral student researching topics relevant to aging and later-life learning. Graduate students whose research focuses on topics relevant to Elderhostel or later-life learning are also encourage to apply.

 

Memorial Education Fellowship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Specified fields of study change each year. Applicant must be a woman maintaining a legal residence in Massachusetts for at least five years and must be sponsored by the president of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Massachusetts club in her community of legal residence. Applicant must also submit letter of reference, personal letter, and transcript. Interview is required. SASE required.

 

Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship for Minorities

Award: $24,000, Deadline: November 14

Applicant must be U.S. citizen or national who is an Alaskan Native, Native American, black/African-American, Mexican American, Pacific Islander, or Puerto Rican. Applicant must have completed no more than 30 semester/45 quarter hours of graduate work in fields eligible for support.

 

Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship for Minorities

Award: $35,000, Deadline: Early January

Applicant must have completed a Ph.D. or Sc.D. within seven years, be a U.S. citizen or national, and be an Alaskan Native, Native American, black/African-American, Mexican-American, Pacific Islander, or Puerto Rican.

 

Psychology Club Scholarship

Award: $800, Deadline: March 1

Priority given to an applicant who is an active psychology club member and a degree-seeking student majoring in counseling psychology, interdisciplinary studies (psychology), or psychology, enrolled in at least nine semester hours (undergraduates) or six semester hours (graduates), have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (undergraduates) or 3.5 cumulative GPA (graduates), have completed at least nine semester hours of psychology at Texas A&M U - Texarkana and have a minimum 3.0 GPA (undergraduates) or 3.5 GPA (graduates) in psychology courses, and must be a resident of Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, or Texas residing in school's service area.

 

Lullelia W. Harrison Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be enrolled full time in a counseling degree program and must submit three letters of recommendation, transcript, 150-word essay, and proof of enrollment.

 

Vessa Notchev Fellowship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a woman and an SDE/GWIS member, who holds a degree from a recognized institution of higher learning, and is able to show documented evidence of outstanding ability and promise in research.

 

Hopi Supplemental Grant

Award: $1,500, Deadline: July 31 (fall); November 30 (spring); April 30 (summer)

Applicant must be an enrolled member of the Hopi Tribe. Entering freshman applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA or a minimum GED score of 45%. Continuing student applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Financial need is considered.

 

Lucy Wing Memorial Fund

Applicant must be an outstanding student pursuing graduate training in basic research areas of physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, engineering, computer/computational sciences, or environmental sciences relevant to the Office of Science.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Marvin Motz Scholarship

Orfalea Scholarship Award

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or Ventura County high school graduate enrolling or already enrolled at an accredited vocational school, community college, or four-year college or university. Applicant must be an early childhood education or teaching major, or any major provided applicant is able to meet at least one of the following requirements: has a documented learning difference/is a non-traditional learner; is under 24 years of age and has a parent employed as a nurse, teacher (pre-K to grade 12), or at a non-profit agency; is under the age of 24 and is the child of a single parent; has completed the Montana Yellowstone Expedition Summer Program.

 

Delta Theta Tau Sorority Scholarship

Applicant must be a resident of Blackford County who plans to pursue an associate's or bachelor's degree in counseling, education, or social work.

 

Jackie Harrigan Haase Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 16

Applicant must be a graduating senior from San Dieguito Union High School district who will pursue a career in counseling, medicine, nursing, psychology or special education. Minimum 2.0 GPA required.

 

Clarence L. Remynse Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who is a permanent resident of Kalamazoo County for a minimum of 12 months prior to application or a graduating high school senior who has been enrolled in a high school within Kalamazoo County for a minimum of 12 months prior to application. Appliacnt must plan to enroll full-time in a regionally accredited college or university in a course of study that leads to a bachelor's degree in business, science (including mathematics and engineering), law, education, psychology or medicine. Financial need is required.

 

San Joaquin Human Resource Association Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be a resident within San Joaquin County who is a senior in high school planning to attend a two- or four-year university in the fall and major in human resources, business administration, management, psychology, or education. Minimum 3.3 GPA, commitment to service in community, and financial need must be demonstrated.

Therapy Professionals Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate an interest in physical, massage, recreational, or occupational therapy or psychology professions and be interested in attending a related undergraduate, graduate, or accredited training program at an accredited institution in the United States. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

Hispanocare Student Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen of latino descent who resides in Illinois and is pursuing a degree in the healthcare field. Minimum 3.0 GPA, minimum composite ACT score of 21, essay, copy of transcript, resume, three letters of recommendation, copy of most recent tax return, and proof of citizenship required.
