National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship

Award: $30,000, Deadline: November (first week)

Applicant must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States who is in the early stages of graduate study in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Eligibility is limited to applicants who have completed no more than 12 months of post-baccalaureate, full-time graduate study at the time of their application. Award is for up to three years over a five year period.

 

War Veterans and Disabled Veterans Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a United States citizen enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year institution in the United States who meets the following criteria: is on active duty in the uniformed military services or is an honorably discharged U.S. military veteran (including Reservist and National Guard personnel); who has served in Enduring Freedom Afghanistan or Iraqi Freedom combat operations; or is disabled as a result of combat operations in OEF or OIE. Applicant must be able to submit a copy of Certificate of Service or Discharge Form DD214. Veterans returning to school may apply as a freshman and/or be enrolled as a part-time student in a two-year or four-year institution.

 

Christopher Gould Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must maintain a minimum CI of 3.0, maintain full-time status, and be recommended by the dean and faculty.

 

Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship for Minorities

Award: $24,000, Deadline: November 14

Applicant must be U.S. citizen or national who is an Alaskan Native, Native American, black/African-American, Mexican American, Pacific Islander, or Puerto Rican. Applicant must have completed no more than 30 semester/45 quarter hours of graduate work in fields eligible for support.

 

Ford Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship for Minorities

Award: $35,000, Deadline: Early January

Applicant must have completed a Ph.D. or Sc.D. within seven years, be a U.S. citizen or national, and be an Alaskan Native, Native American, black/African-American, Mexican-American, Pacific Islander, or Puerto Rican.

 

Graduate Research Program for Women/Cooperative Research Fellowship/Ph.D. Fellowship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident who is black, Hispanic, Native American, female Asian/Pacific Islander or female Caucasian. Selection is based upon scholastic aptitude, academic performance, class rank, leadership, motivation, and ability. Ph.D. program is by invitation only.

 

Northrop Grumman Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicant must be a female full-time student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Engineering. Focus on one of the following disciplines is required: civil and materials, electrical and computer, computer science, or mechanical engineering. Applicant must show evidence of above average academic performance (minimum GPA 3.0/4.0). Women of color (African American, Latina, Native American) are encouraged to apply. Application coversheet, biographical statement, current resume or CV (list your education and employment history), UIC transcript, proof of financial aid eligibility, proof of U.S. citizenship (copy of birth certificate or passport), and two letters of recommendation (include at least one from a UIC instructor) required.

 

B.K. Krenzer Memorial Reentry Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a woman who has been out of the job market as well as out of school for a minimum of two years. Applicant must be in an ABET-accredited engineering program, engineering at SWE-approved colleges and universities, or computer science in a CSAB-accredited program or at an ABET-accredited or SWE-approved institution.

 

West Virginia Engineering, Science, and Technology Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or resident alien who is enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an engineering, science, or technology program leading to a certificate or associate or bachelors degree at an eligible institution of higher education. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Donald P. Brennan Family Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum "B+" average and a minimum SAT I score of 1250. Applicant should be the first in his/her family to attend college in pursuit of a degree in finance and/or computer information systems/statistics.

 

Division of Business Administration Scholarship

Applicant must have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0, be in the upper half of their graduating class, have competitive SAT scores, and provide an essay on major selection and/or interview by Business faculty.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

James Higgins Memorial Award

Applicant must be a graduating CIS/BFS student and must demonstrate academic achievement and desire for continuing growth in the area of computers.

 

Pashcal Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 15 (priority)

Applicant must be a female student who is enrolled full-time and has declared a major in computer science, mathematics, chemistry, biology, or engineering. Entering freshmen Scholars must have a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1050 with at least a 550 on the quantitative portion (or equivalent ACT score) and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Financial need and FAFSA required.

 

Darryl A. Duncan Memorial Scholarship

Award: $150, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a full-time student majoring in computer information systems with an emphasis in networking who is seeking an AAS degree. Additionally, applicant must have and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA.

 

HSF/HSBC-North America Scholarship Program

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and enrolled as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam with a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicant must be a current undergraduate sophomore or a current community college student who is planning on transferring to a four-year college or university; thus having junior status in the upcoming academic school year. Resume and FAFSA are required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

HSF/Wells Fargo Scholarship Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and is a current sophomore enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA at a four-year accredited college or university in the United States; selected recipient must be enrolled as a junior during the award year. FAFSA is required. Program will be open as of fall 2009.

 

Google Lime Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

Award: $10,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a full-time student with a disability who is entering their junior or senior year of undergraduate study or is enrolled in a graduate program at a university in the United States or Canada. Applicant must be enrolled in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.

 

Woodcock Family Education Scholarship Program

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 13

Applicant must be a student with strong math and/or science credentials who will attend a nonprofit or public institution full time. Minimum ACT composite score of 30 (SAT Reasoning math score of 600) and minimum 3.8 cumulative GPA required.

 

Association of Information Technology Professionals Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a resident of the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle, who will be or is currently attending West Texas A&M University or Amarillo College and majoring in computer information systems. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

Sheldon Matthew Smith Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Washington High School who plans to pursue a two- or four-year college or vocational school degree in computer animation, computer art design, computer game design, computer graphics, or writing (literature, not journalism) at an accredited institution.

 

Analytical Engineering, Inc. (AEI) Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 16

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Columbus East, Columbus North, Hauser, Columbus Christian, or Trinity Lutheran High School who plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in a technical field (engineering, computer science, physical science) at an accredited college or university. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

John R. Rogers/Ziegler Family Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from John R. Rogers High School in Spokane, WA. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Faye Lynn Roberts Education Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a female resident of Lee County, FL at least 21 years of age who will pursue a career in computer training, court reporting, nursing or technical studies. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

M.J. Nelson Science Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Holdrege or Loomis High School in Nebraska who will enroll full-time at a post-secondary institution.

 

Helen Koepke Memorial Scholarship

Ray Greenly Scholarship Program

Applicant must be U.S. citizen and college student with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a chosen major relevant to digital retail. Headshot photograph for promotional purposes, two essays, letter of recommendation, and a case study project are required.
