Scholarships in Cleveland

Virginia Frantz and Maurice W. Cogan Memorial Scholarship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a resident of the Cleveland, Ohio, area, living within 50 miles of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument. Preference is given to graduate of St. Ignatius High School.

 

James Garfield Endowed Scholarship

Award: $1,525, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen from the Cleveland Metro area who has demonstrated academic merit, career interest, and financial need.

 

Mercedes Cotner Endowed Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a graduate of the Cleveland Municipal School District with interest in a public service career. Special consideration given to students from the Martin Luther King Law and Public Service Magnet High School.

 

Taylor Michaels Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 4

Applicant must be a United States citizen who is a graduating high school senior with a minimum 2.5 GPA and living within Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Lansing, Los Angeles County, or the New York Metro area. Selection will be based upon the essay, academic achievement, and evidence of leadership and community service.

 

The Princeton Prize

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a high school student who has been actively involved in volunteer work that has had a significant impact on race relations. Two applications required; one from applicant, one from applicant's supporter.
