Applicants must be valedictorian or salutatorian of a Memphis City High School.

 

Abell Family String Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,100, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a student enrolled in or currently pursuing college coursework consistent with a degree in string music performance. Sampler performance on CD required.

 

Kylen C. Bares Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a student from the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering or a student of a Memphis City high school.

 

Mildred Galloway Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who plans to pursue studies in the area of family and consumer sciences.

 

Ruby Holmes Hefley Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,200, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be the child of a parent(s) with a disability(ies) who is receiving Social Security Disability Insurance or Supplemental Security Income.

 

James A. Hyter Vocal Music Scholarship Fund

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a student who will be pursuing a vocal music degree. Audition is required.

 

Allen Jones/Marjorie Barringer/BarKays Scholarship Fund

Award: $2,600, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from a Memphis City school who plans to attend LeMoyne-Owen College.

 

Kicklighter Family Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a graduate of Raleigh-Egypt High School who will be attending a college, university, or vocational school.

 

Joseph W. Westbrook Melorse Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,600, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a Melrose High School student.

 

Sierra Simone Wright Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a graduating senior form Booker T. Washington High School who plans to attend the University of Memphis.

 

The Princeton Prize

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a high school student who has been actively involved in volunteer work that has had a significant impact on race relations. Two applications required; one from applicant, one from applicant's supporter.
