Applicant must be a resident of Armstrong, Briscoe, Carson, Castro, Collingsworth, Childress, Dallam, Deaf Smith, Donley, Gray, Hall, Hansford, Hartley, Hemphill, Hutchinson, Lipscomb, Moore, Ochiltree, Oldham, Parmer, Potter, Randall, Roberts, Sherman, Swisher, or Wheeler county in the northernmost Texas Panhandle.

 

Franklin Lindsay Loan

Award: $7,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a Texas resident attending a college or university full time in Texas and have a minimum 2.0 GPA (undergraduate) or a minimum 3.0 GPA (graduate). Selection is based upon academics. Financial need may be considered.

 

The Amarillo Garden Club Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a female student, residing in the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who is a junior or senior attending Texas Tech University or West Texas A&M University with a major in horticulture. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

The Amarillo Handgunners Association - The Bill Goodson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be an American citizen, residing in one of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who is a graduating senior engaged in or sincerely interested in a shooting sport or activity. Minimum grade average of "C" during school year (2.0 GPA while attending college/university) required.

 

Association of Information Technology Professionals Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a resident of the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle, who will be or is currently attending West Texas A&M University or Amarillo College and majoring in computer information systems. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

The Senator Teel Bivins Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior in a public or private school in Senate District 31 taking Advanced Placement/Honors curriculum. Leadership and community service must be demonstrated. Applicant must major in the field of education at any Texas college or university. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

The A.A. and Hattie Mae Bush Accounting Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior or currently enrolled college student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, or currently attending Amarillo College, Texas Tech University or West Texas A&M University and majoring in accounting. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

The Nancy Gerald Memorial Nursing Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a junior or senior level college student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who exhibits integrity, thriftiness, ambition, moral character and a sincere desire to achieve a higher education. Applicant must be majoring in the field of nursing at Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Howard D. Graves Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating or currently enrolled student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who will attend an institution in the Texas A&M System. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

The Henry Hamilton Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating or currently enrolled student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who will major in a field of engineering and/or environmental science and exhibits community service, leadership and financial need. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Senator Grady and Andrine Hazlewood Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school located in the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who exhibits financial need. Applicant must attend Amarillo College, Texas Tech University, or West Texas A&M University. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

The Jake Jones Memorial Scholarship for the Learning Disabled

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a learning disabled graduating senior from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who exhibits integrity, ambition, moral character and a strong desire to achieve a higher level of education. Applicant may attend any Texas college/university.

 

Robert A. and Margaret W. Kesterson Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who is working part-time and planning to work while in college at either Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University. Financial need, academic excellence, community involvement and leadership must be demonstrated.

 

Love Your Neighbor Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who is an active member in their local church and exhibits financial need, community service, and leadership. Applicant must attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

The Heather Nicole Moseley Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating or currently enrolled student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who will pursue a degree in occupational or physical therapy from Amarillo College, West Texas A&M University, Texas Tech University, or the University of Texas. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

Benjamin Gimp Raffkind Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who exhibits community service and leadership and will attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Paulus Schroeter Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who demonstrates financial need and exhibits community service and outstanding leadership. Minimum 3.4 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

Dr. Charles and Phyllis Seward Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle who exhibits community service and leadership, is career oriented, is employed, and will attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University. Preference given to Native Americans. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

Jerry M. Speed Memorial Scholarship

Award: $750, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who exhibits financial need and will attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University. Preference given to those majoring in the service industry, especially mortuary science and health. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

Jack B. Weinberger Memorial Scholarship

Award: $400, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who exhibits financial need and will major in the field of health care. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

The Malouf and Iris Abraham Scholarship Assistance Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be graduating senior residing in Gray, Hemphill, Lipscomb, Ochiltree, Roberts or Wheeler counties in Texas who exhibits character, leadership and financial need. Applicant must major in agriculture at Clarendon College, Oklahoma Panhandle State University, West Texas A&M University, or Texas Tech University; human science at Texas Tech University; or any field of study at Frank Phillips College or Amarillo College. Minimum "80" average in high school (2.5 GPA in college) required.
