Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants Educational Foundation Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be a Maryland resident attending a Maryland college or university full time with a minimum 3.0 GPA, and at least 60 credit hours, including courses in accounting principles I and II. Applicant must plan to take the CPA exam, and be able to show financial need. Student aid report and transcripts required.

 

Scholarship for Accounting Majors

Award: $3,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and must be studying to become a CPA at a Washington State college or university. Selection is based upon community activities, work history, personal statement, and two letters of recommendation.

 

Minority Accounting Doctoral Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: Unknown

Applicant must be an African-American, Hispanic-American, or Native American in a full-time accounting or program at an AACSB-accredited university. The scholarship anticipates that the school will provide an annual stipend unrelated to teaching, waive tuition and fees, and provide teaching and research assistantships as appropriate for doctoral students.

 

Key Bank Endowed Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be a full-time student with a minimum 2.0 GPA and be a resident of Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, or Washtenaw County.

 

Frank L. Greathouse Governmental Accounting Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: Late February

Applicant must be enrolled full-time, be a U.S. or Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and submit recommendation from advisor or program chair.

 

Michael J. Barrett Doctoral Dissertation Grant

Applicant's dissertation must relate to the field of internal auditing.

 

New Hampshire Society of CPAs Scholarship

Applicant must be a New Hampshire resident who is a college senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in accounting or business.

 

Excellence in Accounting Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 2

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is a resident of New York. Applicant must be enrolled at or accepted to a New York college or university with plans to major in accounting. Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and completed FAFSA required.

 

Educational Assistance Commitment Grant

Applicant must be in fifth year of program leading to the CPA certificate at an Ohio school, and have earned at least 120 semester hours. Part-time students are also eligible for a partial grant. Selection is based upon financial need.

 

Gordon Scheer Accounting Scholarship

Award: $1,250, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be an accounting major attending an accredited Colorado college or university who has completed at least eight semester hours of accounting courses, including one intermediate course. Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Selection is based upon scholastic achievement.

 

Ethnic Diversity Accounting Scholarship (Undergraduate/Graduate)

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be African-American, Asian-American, Native American, or of Hispanic or Pacific Island descent, and must be an accounting major attending an accredited Colorado college or university who has completed at least eight semester hours of accounting courses, including one intermediate course. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based upon scholastic achievement and financial need.

 

General Accounting Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 30 (fall); November 30 (winter or spring)

Applicant must be an accounting major attending an accredited Colorado college or university who has completed at least eight semester hours of accounting courses, including one intermediate course. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based upon scholastic achievement and financial need.

 

Ethnic Diversity Accounting Scholarship (Incoming Freshman)

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be African-American, Asian-American, Native American, or of Hispanic or Pacific Island descent, and must be in senior year of high school and enrolled in the summer or fall semester/quarter at an accredited Colorado college or university which offers accounting courses transferable to other Colorado institutions. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based upon scholastic achievement.

 

Scholarship for Minority Accounting Majors

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a minority student who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and is enrolled full time. Selection is based upon academic achievement, leadership, volunteerism, and commitment to becoming a licensed CPA professional.

 

Peninsula Chapter James Shank Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a graduate of an Olympic Peninsula-area high school or a current resident of the Peninsula Chapter area including Belfair, Clallum, Jefferson, Kitsap, and Mason counties, Wash., and must be attending a college or university in Washington State. Minimum 2.75 GPA required.

 

Accountancy Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled at the University of Missouri at Columbia.

 

Association of Investment Management and Research (AIMR) Scholarship

New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) Excellence in Accounting Scholarship

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

HSF/MassMutual Multicultural College Scholarship

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of African-American, Asian/Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic heritage. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and plan to enroll as a full-time student pursuing a degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, marketing, mathematics, or statistics at a four-year accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam during the upcoming academic year. FAFSA is required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

HSF/GMAC SmartEdge Book Scholarship Program

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have plans to enroll as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program at a four-year accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam during the upcoming academic year. FAFSA is required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

Payne, Nickles & Company Accounting Scholarship

Applicant must be a fourth or fifth year student who is majoring in accounting. Award looks to assist recipient in meeting the 150-hour requirement to take the CPA exam. FAFSA and Student Aid Report are required.

 

Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants Scholarship Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be a college junior, senior or graduate student with a major or concentration in accounting at an accredited four-year college or university in Hawaii. Applicant must have completed two or more 300-level accounting courses. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.

 

The A.A. and Hattie Mae Bush Accounting Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior or currently enrolled college student from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, or currently attending Amarillo College, Texas Tech University or West Texas A&M University and majoring in accounting. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Ronald and Karel Bennett Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of a Jackson County high school who will be enrolling at a public or nonprofit college or university as a sophomore or above with a major in accounting, architecture, business or engineering. FAFSA and minimum 3.0 GPA required.
