Diversity & Multiculturalism Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a first-time, domestic, undergraduate degree-seeking student entering the university in the fall. Admission application file must be completed and applicant must be admissible to the university. Essay questions, participation in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, and desire to add multiculturalism on campus are required.

 

Presidential Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a first-time, domestic, undergraduate degree-seeking student entering the university in the fall. Applicant must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA at the end of their junior year and a minimum composite ACT score of 25 (combined SAT Reasoning score of 1130). Applicants are automatically considered for award provided they apply to the university.

 

Travel Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a full-time, dependent student from the United States or Canada (excluding Minnesota and western Wisconsin).

 

HSF/Wells Fargo Scholarship Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and is a current sophomore enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA at a four-year accredited college or university in the United States; selected recipient must be enrolled as a junior during the award year. FAFSA is required. Program will be open as of fall 2009.

 

Merit Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student who will graduate high school on the United States mainland. Information provided on the admissions application, along with a high school transcript will determine criteria and eligibility of the award.

 

HSF/Peierls Rising Star Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage who is a current high school senior from Colorado or Texas who has participated in selected pre-collegiate programs. Applicant must have a GPA between 2.5 and 2.99 on a 4.0 scale and have plans to enroll as a full-time student in a degree-seeking program at an accredited institution in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam during the upcoming academic year. FAFSA is required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

Green and Gold Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a Colorado resident who is an entering freshmen student who is able to demonstrate outstanding academic achievement. Selection is based upon leadership, extracurricular activities, service to school or community, and special talents.

 

Out of State Award

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1 (priority)

Applicant must be a United States resident who is living outside of New York State and who visits the college before January 31st of their senior year.

 

Jayhawk Generations Scholarship

Award: $12,154, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be an admitted first-time, non-resident freshman student whose parent, step-parent, legal guardian, grandparent, step-grandparent, or great-grandparent earned a degree at the university. Minimum 3.5 GPA and combined SAT Reasoning score of 1090 (composite ACT score of 24) required.

 

Blazer Elite Scholarship

Award: $9,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a non-resident student. Selection is based upon academic achievement.

 

Blazer Gold Scholarship

Award: $5,500, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a non-resident student. Selection is based upon academic achievement.

 

Blazer Achievement Scholarship

Out of State Grant

Award: $2,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a full-time student and one of the following: a United States citizen who is a non-Florida resident living in the United States or a United States territory or an eligible non-citizen (permanent resident).

 

Diane Dawson Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 16

Applicant must be a graduating senior at a high school in the greater Sacramento or Denver area who has a parent/legal guardian with terminal cancer or other terminal illness, or who have lost a parent to a terminal disease during their tenure in high school. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Girls Leadership Council: Dottie Lamm Leadership Award

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 30

Applicant must be chosen to participate in a one-week intensive residential summer program on the University of Denver campus (program provided at no charge to participants). At the end of the program, two exemplary participants will receive the award.

 

Big Jon Platt Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 22

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Montbello High School who will attend an accredited post-secondary institution. Financial need and minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Columbine Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,200, Deadline: March 5

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Jefferson County, CO high school who will attend an accredited post-secondary institution. Financial need and minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

The Dave Sanders Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 11

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Columbine High School who was involved with athletics and will pursue post-secondary education. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Denver County Club Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 30

Applicant must be an employee of the Denver County Club who is pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree.

 

Helen M. McLoraine Scholarship for Foster Care & Emancipating Youth

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 14

Applicant must have been in the Colorado foster care system for a minimum of 24 months between the ages of 13 and 18 and planning to pursue post-secondary education.

 

The Jim and Peggy Curtis Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: March 17

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Moffat Senior or Mountain Valley Senior High School who will pursue post-secondary education.

 

John W. and Edna Wilson Mosley Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 10

Applicant must be a graduating from East High School of African-American descent. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Raymond and Velma Merkle Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 10

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Littleton or Manual High School who is a first generation college student. Minimum 2.75 GPA required.
