Admissions Academic Scholarship - Non-Resident

Moody's Mega Math Challenge

Award: $20,000, Deadline: February 22

Applicant must be a high school junior or senior who is part of a team working to solve an open-ended, applied math-modeling problem focused on a real-word issue in 14 hours. Teams must be comprised of three to five students.

 

Out of State Fee Waiver

Applicant must have a minimum 3.2 GPA, minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1200, and be an incoming freshman student or transfer student.

 

New York Women in Communications Foundation Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a student from New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania majoring or (for high school seniors) declaring a major in a communications-related field with a minimum GPA of 3.2. Selection is based upon academic excellence and need and involvement in the field of communications.

 

Roothbert Fund Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student living in one of the designated states noted by the sponsor. Interview is required. Acceptance of the grant obligates the recipient to maintain a high standard of work and conduct, have transcripts sent to the Fund by his or her school after each semester, attend at least one weekend fellowship meeting, keep a close relationship with the Fund through correspondence and visits, and advise the Fund promptly of any change in his or her academic or financial situation. Application form is available online during November, December, and January only.

 

New York Women in Communications Foundation Scholarships

Award: $10,000, Deadline: January 25

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who intends to pursue or further a career in communications.

 

Columbus Citizens Foundation College Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: February 17

Applicant must be of Italian American descent, and entering college as a freshman for the first time. Total family income divided by number of people in household cannot exceed $25,000. Applicant must possess an 85% or greater GPA and have made contributions to their school and community. Must demonstrate financial need.

 

New Jersey State Golf Association (NJSGA) Caddie Scholarship

Award: $5,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must have caddied for at least two seasons. Scholastic achievement, CEEB SAT Scores, qualities of character and leadership, length of service as a caddie, and financial need are the selection criteria. Attendance full-time at an accredited college or university is required.

 

Pellegrini Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be of Swiss descent or have one parent who is a Swiss citizen, and be a permanent resident of Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, or Pennsylvania.

 

New York Financial Writers Association Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be attending a school in the New York City metropolitan area and show interest in becoming a business journalist.

 

St. Andrew's Society Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be able to cite their Scottish descent, have a meritorious academic record, and be able to demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be enrolled in an United States or Scottish institution for the third or fourth year of College or University or full-time graduate study. British applicants must have been born in Scotland, American citizens must maintain permanent residence in the Mid-Atlantic Region (defined as Washington, D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, or Virginia). Special consideration to those whose work contributes toward enhancing knowledge of Scottish history or culture.

 

Frank D. Visceglia Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a New Jersey resident who has earned the Eagle Scout Award in New Jersey. Preference is given to applicants whose Eagle Scout community service projects are related to the environment and to those with career goals in development-related fields.

 

New York Council Navy League Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: June 15

Applicant must be the dependent of a regular/reserve Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard service member who is serving on active duty, retired with pay, or died in the line of duty or after retirement. Applicant must be a resident of Connecticut, New Jersey, or New York.

 

Epilepsy Foundation of New Jersey College Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must be a resident of New Jersey who has epilepsy.

 

NJOEF Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: April 30

Applicant must be a New Jersey resident and be accepted to a college of osteopathic medicine. Applicant should rank in top quarter of class and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based upon academic achievement, financial need, motivation, and professional promise as an osteopathic physician. Recipient must agree to become a member of the New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (NJAOPS) and the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), complete his or her education, receiving the D.O. degree, and participate in AOA-approved internship/residency programs.

 

AIA New Jersey Scholarship

Freehold Soil Conservation Scholarship (Neal W. Munch, Marvin 'Mac' Clark and William Schauer Scholarships)

Applicant must be a resident of Middlesex or Monmouth County, NJ, who is majoring in a field related to natural resources.

Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and be a resident of West Paterson, New Jersey.

 

Back to School Nursing Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 31; April 30; July 31; October 31

Applicant must be a legal resident of the United States who is at least 18 years of age or older at the time of registration and who plans to enroll in a previously unattended institution in the United States (award not open to residents in Florida, New York, Rhode Island or other states/territories). Applicant must be a nursing student. Response to why the applicant decided to pursue a nursing career is required.

 

David C. Goodwin Memorial Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: September 1

Applicant must be a high school junior participating in the New Jersey American Legion Baseball Program.

 

Joseph Collins Foundation Scholarship

Award: $10,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must obtain application from the medical school authorities, complete it and return it to them for forwarding to the Foundation. Selection is based upon financial need, scholastic record and standing, demonstrated interest in arts and letters or other cultural pursuits outside the field of medicine, intention to specialize in neurology, psychiatry, or general practice, evidence of good moral character, and attendance at an accredited medical school located east of or contiguous to the Mississippi River.

 

Stutz Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be the natural or adopted child of a member of the American Legion Department of New Jersey.

 

Oratorical Contest Scholarship

Applicant must be a winner in the New Jersey Department Oratorical Contest.

 

Educational Opportunity Fund Grant

Award: $2,500, Deadline: October; March 1 (spring)

Applicant must be from an educationally disadvantaged background and demonstrate financial need. Applicant must be a full-time, matriculated student at a New Jersey college or university and be a resident of New Jersey for at least 12 consecutive months.

 

Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars

Award: $1,000, Deadline: October 1

Applicant must be (and have been for the previous 12 consecutive months) a New Jersey resident planning to attend a New Jersey college or university full-time. Applicant must be able to demonstrate academic achievement based upon secondary school records and SAT scores at the end of their junior year.

 

Survivor Tuition Benefits Program

Award: -, Deadline: October 1; March 1 (spring)

Applicant must be the dependent of a New Jersey emergency service member or law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty. Applicant must be a resident of New Jersey attending a New Jersey institution of higher education as an undergraduate on at least a half-time basis. Grants pay the actual cost of tuition up to the highest tuition charged at a New Jersey public institution of higher education.

 

Tuition Aid Grant

Applicant must be or intend to be a full-time undergraduate at a New Jersey college or university, demonstrate financial need, and must have lived in New Jersey for at least 12 consecutive months.

 

Health Careers Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen enrolled full time in an accredited school of study in the U.S. or Canada and submit resume, official transcripts, an itemized budget endorsed by the school's financial aid officer, and two letters of recommendation. Pre-med students are not eligible. Enclose two stamped, self-addressed, business-sized envelopes with inquiry.

 

Beau Mitchell Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,300, Deadline: March 1

Applicant should preferably be a non-resident student who is a former member of the Boy Scouts of America with strong moral character and an orientation toward the outdoors. Financial need required.
