Scholarships in Information Technology

Paul and Ivy Beardslee Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student graduating from Bryan County High School who plans to major in information systems. Bryan County High School graduates who plan to major in accounting, computer science, economics, finance, information technology, logistics, management, or marketing may also be considered. Selection is based upon academic record, relevant extracurricular activities, and potential for success in the major.

 

Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship

Award: $15,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be a high school senior or college freshman, sophomore, or junior who will graduate or have graduated from high school in Middle Tennessee and will be enrolling in a four-year not-for-profit college or university. Applicant must be a business major or STEM major and be able to demonstrate financial need. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.

 

Intelligence and Cyber Studies Scholarships

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a full-time student in an undergraduate or graduate degree-granting program in a field directly related to the support of United States intelligence or homeland security enterprises, and/or foreign languages. Applicant must be currently enrolled at a two- or four-year accredited college or university in the United States.

 

DPMA/pc Annual Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Oregon or Washington state who is attending an Oregon or Washington state university or college with a major in an information technology-related curriculum. Selection based upon academic performance, information technology-related career goals, recommendations, previous experience/interest in information technology, and financial need.

 

SEMA Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen who is enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college, university, or post-secondary vocational/technical program in the United States. Applicant must have completed half of their total curriculum requirements/classroom hours by the application deadline in a field leading to a career in the automotive aftermarket or related field. Minimum 2.5 GPA required. Recipient must remain a full-time student for their first full semester, quarter, or term following receipt of the award.

 

DPMA/pc Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 31

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from any high school in the Oregon or Clark County, Washington area who is looking to enroll in a major directly related to the Information Technology industry (i.e. CS, CIS) at any accredited institution in the states of Oregon or Washington. Selection is based upon academic performance, information technology-related career goals, counselor/instructor recommendations, financial need, previous experience/interest in information technology, and completeness, neatness, and presentation of application.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

College of Business, Information, and Social Sciences Dean's Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and a minimum SAT reading and math combined score of 1200 (composite ACT score of 26). Three recommendations and a 1,000-word essay describing the applicant's professional and personal long-range goals are required.

 

Hunkler Freshman Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Selection is based upon academic excellence.

 

AACE International Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: October 15

Selection is based upon academic performance, extracurricular involvement, and essay submission.

 

Billings Broadcasters Media Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be enrolled full time, demonstrate financial need, and major in an area related to the broadcast industry.

 

HSF/Wal-Mart Stores College Scholarship Program

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and is a sophomore, junior, senior, or first, or second year Master's student enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Guam. FAFSA is required. Program will begin as of fall 2009.

 

HSF/Wells Fargo Scholarship Program

Award: $2,000, Deadline: December 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 who is of Hispanic heritage and is a current sophomore enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA at a four-year accredited college or university in the United States; selected recipient must be enrolled as a junior during the award year. FAFSA is required. Program will be open as of fall 2009.

 

David and Barbara Kruse Paw Paw High School Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or graduate of Paw Paw High School who is enrolled or planning to enroll in a technical school trade school or community college in a course of study that will lead to a career in the field of technology (e.g. auto technician, graphic design, information or manufacturing technology). Minimum 2.0 GPA, extracurricular or community volunteer activities, and work experience are required.

 

Dave Chamberlain Scholarship

Applicant must be a graduate of Evergreen School District who is pursuing a degree in education.

 

Peter A. White Educational Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Bay City Central High School who will attend a public college or university in Michigan as a full-time student majoring in business, education, information technology or social sciences.

 

Clare Boothe Luce Scholarship for Women in Science and Mathematics

Applicant must be a woman majoring in biology, mathematics, or information technology (computer science specialty). Applicant must have a record of high academic achievement and an interest in teaching or research in math or science.

 

Adelle and Erwin Tomash Fellowship in the History of Information Technology

Award: $14,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a graduate student who is writing a doctoral dissertation in the history of computing. Preference will be given to applicants indicating a need to use CBI materials, planning research in residence at CBI, and willing to make a brief presentation of their research findings to CBI staff.

 

HTR Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: December 15; May 15

Applicant must be a college student who is studying in IT or related fields. A short essay regarding what the applicant will do with their degree is required.

 

Technology Scholarship for Women

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 16

Applicant must be a full-time female student pursuing a technical degree such as computer science, mathematics, information technology, etc. Software project developed outside of applicant's school or paid work is required.

 

Associate's Degree Scholarship in Computer Technology and Information Systems

Award: $500, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be pursuing an associate's degree in Computer Technology and Information Systems. Selection is based on academic history, extracurricular activities, and employment history.

 

Betsy Y. Justus Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be a female college freshman, re-entry, or transfer student who is a North Carolina resident enrolled at an accredited institution in North Carolina. Must be a STEM major with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Essay, transcripts, proof of acceptance, and letter of recommendation required.

 

CyberCorps Scholarship for Service

Applicant must be a graduate student pursuing a master's degree in Cybersecurity OR Information Technology with a concentration in Computer Security. Required two-year work commitment in the cybersecurity field with a federal, state, or local government agency or a federally funded research and development company upon graduation.

 

Wayne V. Black Memorial Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 26

Applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing at an accredited college or university in the U.S. Must be majoring in computer science, engineering, engineering technology, information technology, political science, pre-law, or telecommunications. Biography, essay, copy of transcripts, and references required.

 

Google SVA Scholarship

Applicant must be a currently enrolled full-time veteran or active duty undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in computer engineering or computer science. Resume, copy of current transcripts, two letters of reference, three essays, and DD 214 or Active Duty orders and Memorandum of Understanding from commanding officer required.

 

Dr. Robert W. Sims Memorial Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and residents of Florida. They must be enrolled in or plan to enroll in a postsecondary degree program in computer science, information technology or a related subject at an accredited school in Florida. They must be full-time students and must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Selection is based on the overall strength of the application.

 

AFFIRM University Scholarship

Students must be college juniors or seniors at Syracuse University or the University of Maryland-University College. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in information technology (IT) or a related subject, must be enrolled full-time (12+ credits) and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or more. Selection is based on academic merit, an academic letter of recommendation and financial need.
