Islamic Development Bank Loan Program

Award: $15,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a United States citizen or permanent resident who is under the age of 24 and has confirmed admission into a professional degree program. Applicant must be majoring in one of the following areas of study: agriculture, dentistry, economics, engineering, food technology, forestry/fishery, media, medical technology, medicine, nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, political science, social science, or veterinary medicine. High academic achievement and financial need are required. Recipient must not be in receipt of any other loan.

 

Canadian Home Economics Association (CHEA) Fellowship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be a woman who is a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant and is attending a Canadian university. Applicant must be studying one or more aspects in the field of home economics at the masters or doctoral level.

 

Wayne Hendrick Award

Award: $1,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be majoring in nutrition and hospitality management.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

Special Undergraduate Academic Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and a minimum combined SAT I score of 1500 (composite ACT score of 21).

 

Eileen Finn Kuritz Dietetics and Nutrition Award

Award: $600, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must rank in the top two-fifths of class and have a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1050.

 

Alliance for Minority Participation Scholarship

Applicant must have a competitive standardized test score and a strong GPA

 

Mildred B. Davis National Graduate Fellowship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: January 9

Applicant must be a graduate student with clearly defined plans to major in nutrition at the graduate level immediately following completion of the baccalaureate program.

 

Joan Augustine School of Nutrition Entrance Awards

Award: $3,000, Deadline: August 27

Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident who is an incoming freshman entering full-time in the nutrition program.

 

The Phyllis V. Roberts Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 15

Applicants must be Virginia residents and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students will need to submit three letters of reference, a short essay explaining why they have chosen a graduate degree in Food Science/Nutritional Science. Applicants should have a goal of helping to address food insecurity in our communities.
