Louis Greenbaum History Writing Contest

Award: $250, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in the History/College of Humanities and Fine Arts department. Contest recognizes outstanding papers written for history courses. All topics are eligible, and essays by majors and non-majors may be entered.

 

Michael S. Sarli Scholarship Fund

Onward & Upwards Scholarship

Richard N. Rossi '62 Memorial Scholarship Fund

Applicant must be enrolled in the Hotel, Restaurant, and Travel Administration Department. Preference given to the applicant who has worked in UMass Food Services.

 

AfterCollege STEM Inclusion Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 31; June 30; September 30; December 31

Applicant must be a currently enrolled student who is working toward a degree in a field of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) from a group under-represented in their field of study. Underrepresented groups may be defined by: gender, race, ethnic background, disability, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, nationality and other non-visible differences. Minimum 3.0 GPA required. Applicant must click the blue Apply button on the AfterCollege application page and complete their AfterCollege profile which will be the criteria (with specific emphasis on the personal statement) used to determine the recipient of the award.

 

Technology Scholarship for Women

Applicant must be a full-time female student pursuing a technical degree such as computer science, mathematics, information technology, etc. Software project developed outside of applicant's school or paid work is required.

 

Out to Protect Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: November 22

Applicant must identify as gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, or transgender and be pursuing a career in law enforcement by attending a basic training program.

 

Commercial Video Scholarship

Applicant must be a current student with a minimum 2.5 GPA and have taken the SAT or ACT test (if high school senior). College applicants must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university. An original commercial about insurance driving habits, good or bad must be submitted. Video must be shared on Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Googleplus, Blogger, Reddit, Tumblr, Pinterest, Linkedln, Stumbleupon, Digg and linked to http://www.cheapautoinsurance.org in the video and video description.

Applicant must be a future or current student who has been accepted to or attends a community college, technical/trade college, or university. Applicant must write or type and print the following sentence 25 times: I will not stop and I will not quit until I am degreed up!
