Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with greater than average financial need enrolled in a U.S. institution. Minority and female applicants are encouraged to apply; however, selection is without regard to race, creed, or sex. Alan F. Henry/Paul A. Greebler Scholarship

Robert A. Dannels Memorial Scholarship

ANS Delayed Education for Women Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a woman, must have experienced at least a one-year delay or interruption in undergraduate studies, be entering a four-year curriculum at a U.S. institution, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and have proven academic ability. Applicant must demonstrate financial need, and must be sponsored by an ANS local section, division, student branch, committee, member, or organization member.

 

Robert T. Liner Scholarship

Northrop Grumman Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: February 28

Applicant must be a female full-time student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Engineering. Focus on one of the following disciplines is required: civil and materials, electrical and computer, computer science, or mechanical engineering. Applicant must show evidence of above average academic performance (minimum GPA 3.0/4.0). Women of color (African American, Latina, Native American) are encouraged to apply. Application coversheet, biographical statement, current resume or CV (list your education and employment history), UIC transcript, proof of financial aid eligibility, proof of U.S. citizenship (copy of birth certificate or passport), and two letters of recommendation (include at least one from a UIC instructor) required.

 

Vogt Radiochemistry Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident enrolled in a U.S. institution, be a first-year graduate student doing or proposing research in radio-analytical chemistry or analytical applications of nuclear science, and must be sponsored by an ANS local section, division, student branch, committee member, or organization member.

ANS Pittsburg Local Section Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: February 1

U.S. and non-U.S. applicants must be ANS Student members enrolled in and attending an accredited institution in the United States. Applicant must be enrolled in a course of study relating to a degree in nuclear science or nuclear engineering in a U.S. institution. Applicants must have some affiliation with Western Pennsylvania or must attend school at a nearby university within the region. Applicant must be sponsored by an ANS local section, division, student branch, committee member or organization member.

National Academy for Nuclear Training Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based upon academic record and potential for a career in the nuclear utility industry.

 

U.S. Department of Energy Nuclear Engineering Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Selection is based upon academic record and potential for a career in the nuclear industry.

 

National Academy for Nuclear Training Fellowship

National Academy for Nuclear Training Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be enrolled full-time in an accredited four-year institution and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must submit essay describing educational goals and interest in careers in the nuclear power industry. Applicant must list planned or desired summer employment, co-op assignments, or internships. Applications must be endorsed and sent by the applicant's school. Selection is based upon academic performance, eligible major, and potential for career in the nuclear power industry. Preference will be given to those students indicating specific interest in and preparation for careers in the U.S. nuclear power industy. Students with commitments/obligations that prevent availability for possible nuclear power industry employment immediately after graduation are not eligible.

 

Decommissioning, Decontamination, and Reutilization Division Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or possess a permanent resident visa, be enrolled in an engineering or science discipline associated with decommissioning/decontamination of nuclear facilities or management/characterization of nuclear waste or restoration of the environment. Please see ANS website (www.ans.org) for list of additional criteria to be met. Nuclear Engineering Division Student Award

Award: $300, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a full-time student, be an AIChE student member, and submit an original paper on nuclear-related studies in chemical engineering. Selection is based upon technical merit, knowledge, and originality.

 

William R and Mila Kimel Nuclear Engineering Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and must be enrolled in a course of study relating to a degree in nuclear science or nuclear engineering. Applicant must be sponsored by an ANS local section, division, student branch, committee member or organizaiton member.

 

Charles (Tommy) Thomas Memorial Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a U.S. or a non-U.S. applicant and must be a student member of ANS attending an accredited institution in the United States. Applicant must be an undergraduate of at least junior year status pursuing a degree in a discipline preparing them for a career dealing with the environmental aspects of nuclear science or nuclear engineering.

 

ANS Incoming College Freshman Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 1

U.S. and non-U.S. applicants must be ANS Student members enrolled in and attending an accredited institution in the United States. Applicant must be a high school senior and must be enrolled full-time in college courses and pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering or intends to pursue a degree in nuclear engineering in a U.S. institution.

 

ANS Incoming Freshman Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: February 1
