Kansas Educational Benefits for Children of MIA, POW, and Deceased Veterans

Applicant must be the child of a POW, MIA, or KIA Vietnam War veteran who was a Kansas resident upon entering military service. Recipient must attend a state-supported college or vocational-technical school in Kansas.

Applicant must not be a resident of Nebraska.

Mark Twain Nonresident Scholarship

Applicant must rank in top 50% of graduating high school class, have a minimum composite ACT score of 27 (combined SAT I score of 1210), and be a resident of any state except Missouri.

 

Kansas Scottish Rite Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a Kansas resident and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Interview is required.

 

Out-of-State Collegiate Scholar

Award: $3,500, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and a minimum composite ACT score between 28 and 29 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1250-1320).

 

Out-of-State Presidential Scholar

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and minimum composite ACT score between 32 and 36 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1400 and 1600).

 

Out-of-State Capstone Scholar

Applicant must be an out-of-state first-time freshman student with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 27 (combined SAT Reasoning score between 1210 and 1240).

 

Irving W. Cook, WA0CGS Scholarship

Applicant must have an amateur radio license. Preference is given to Kansas residents.

 

PHD ARA Scholarship

Applicant must have an amateur radio license. Preference is given to residents of ARRL Midwest Division (Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska) and to children of deceased radio amateurs.

 

Catholic College Tuition Waiver

Applicant must be a dependent of a full-time Kansas Catholic college employee.

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in the 26-county area of northwest Kansas, have a minimum 3.5 GPA, and plan on attending a an accredited school in Kansas.

Applicant must be a child of a Kansas American Legion or Auxiliary member and attending a school in Kansas.

 

Dr. Click Cowger Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: July 15

Applicant must have played or currently be playing on a Kansas American Legion Baseball team and attending an approved Kansas school.

 

Paul L. Flaherty Scholarship

Award: $250, Deadline: July 15

Applicant must be a resident of Kansas, have participated in high school athletics, and attend an approved Kansas school.

 

Hugh A. Smith Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be the child of an American Legion or Auxiliary member and attend an approved Kansas school.

 

John and Geraldine Hobble Licensed Practical Nursing Scholarship

Applicant must be a Kansas resident, be at least 18 years old prior to taking the Kansas State Board Examination, and attend an accredited Kansas school that awards an L.P.N. degree.

 

McNair Scholars Award

Applicant must be from outside South Carolina. Selection is based upon academic achievement, leadership, and character.

 

Mt. Garfield Non-Resident Scholarship

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen and a resident of any state other than Colorado, and have a minimum 3.2 GPA.

 

Rosedale Post 346 Scholarship
