College Scholarship Competition

Illinois AMVETS Sad Sacks Nursing Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be an Illinois high school senior who has been accepted into a pre-approved nursing program or may already be a student in an approved School of Nursing in the State of Illinois. Applicant must be able to prove satisfactory in their academic record, character, interest and activity record, and financial need. Priority will be given to the dependent of a deceased or disabled veteran.

 

State Nursing Scholarship

Award: $4,500, Deadline: June 30

Applicant must be a Maryland resident, have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, and enroll for at least six credits in a nursing program at a Maryland school.

 

FNSNA Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 10

Applicant must be enrolled at a state-approved school of nursing or pre-nursing. Graduate applicant must be pursuing his or her first nursing degree. Selection is based upon academic achievement, financial need, and involvement in student nursing organizations and community service related to health care.

 

Student Loan Program for Health, Science, & Mathematics

Award: $8,500, Deadline: February

Applicant must be a resident of North Carolina and demonstrate financial need.

 

Good Samaritan Foundation Scholarship for Nursing

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 1

Selection is based upon applicant's financial need, aptitude, and dedication. Interview is required. Applicant must attend a Texas school.

 

Nursing Fund Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: None

Applicant must be an Indiana resident and demonstrate financial need. Award may be used at Indiana schools only.

 

Kansas Nursing Service Scholarship

Award: $3,500, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a Kansas resident attending an eligible Kansas institution full-time. Sponsorship with a health care agency is required.

 

Elizabeth J. Davis Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: March 9

Applicant must be a resident of Vermont who will pursue a degree in licensed practical nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, registered nursing, speech language pathology, or social work at an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding. Financial need and intent to work in Vermont for two years must be demonstrated.

 

American Legion-Massachusetts Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be the child or grandchild of a Department of Massachusetts Legion member in good standing. One award is for nursing only.

 

Graduate Nursing Loan Forgiveness

Award: $7,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a Tennessee resident and United States citizen who is a graduate student accepted for enrollment at an eligible Tennessee post-secondary institution in a program leading to a master's or post-master's degree in nursing education. Applicant must hold an unencumbered Tennessee Registered Nurse License.

 

Commonwealth of Virginia Nurse Educator Scholarship Program

Award: $20,000, Deadline: July 31

Applicant must be accepted as a full-/part-time student in a school of nursing program.

 

American Indian Nurse Scholarship Award

Award: $2,250, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be an American Indian in financial need, have career goals related to his or her people, and be attending an accredited nursing school. Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation.

 

Nursing Economics Foundation Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a registered nurse with a career interest in nursing leadership, administration, or management. Selection is based upon work experience, educational history, honors and awards, published works, presentations and lectures, community service, and GRE or MAT test scores. Must be a US citizen, and show evidence of leadership.

Dean's Scholarship

Selection is based upon academic record.

 

Suburban Hospital Casey Scholarships

Award: $5,000, Deadline: November 30; April 30

Applicant must be a current employee who is enrolled in a nursing or allied health (e.g. radiology technology, respiratory therapy, medical technology, physical therapy, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy, or physician assistant) undergraduate program or a non-employee who is enrolled in a nursing program leading to a B.S.N. or higher. Minimum 2.5 GPA, two letters of recommendation, transcript, and letter of acceptance/good standing required. Award requires a work commitment at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD, upon completion of degree program.

 

New York State ENA September 11 Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 28

Applicant must be a pre-hospital care provider, firefighter, or police officer who is studying for an undergraduate nursing degree.

 

Nursing Scholarship

Applicant must be a Connecticut resident studying at a Connecticut nursing school.

 

Karen O'Neil Endowed Advanced Nursing Practice Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 28

Applicant must be an emergency nurse seeking an advanced degree and must submit typewritten application form, biographical sketch, personal statement, transcripts, and at least two references. Selection is based upon applicant's statement of goals, professional or ENA involvement, and GPA. Applicant must be an ENA member.

 

Miriam Fay Furlong Grant

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be a member in good standing in Alpha Tau Delta Professional Fraternity for Nurses.

 

ENA Foundation Undergraduate Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: April 28

Applicant must be a RN, LPN, or LVN pursuing a bachelor's degree, must be an ENA member, and must submit typewritten application form, biographical sketch, personal statement, transcripts, and at least two references. Selection is based upon applicant's statement of goals, professional involvement or ENA membership, and GPA.

 

J. Hugh and Earle W. Fellows Memorial Fund

Award: $120,000, Deadline: Rolling

Applicant must be a permanent resident of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, or Walton County, FL, be of good moral character, and qualified scholastically and intellectually. Ministry majors must be associated with the Episcopal church or a faith whose religious beliefs are not in substantial conflict with the Episcopal church. Recipient must have been accepted by or be successfully pursuing training at an accredited college or university in the appropriate field of study.

 

Iris & Roger Wilkins Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be a Ventura County resident, enrolling at a public college, university or community college in California, who pursue an RN degree and demonstrate financial need.

 

ENA Foundation/Emergency Medicine Foundation Research Grant

Award: $20,000, Deadline: January 11

Award is to facilitate research between physicians and nurses to improve clinical research in emergency care. Applicants must be a registered nurse/physician team working in emergency care and must submit typewritten application form, biographical sketch, budget, research abstract and proposal, data about mentors/preceptors/consultants, support letters, and signed research agreement. Selection is based upon researcher qualifications and quality of research proposal.

 

Scholarship in Cancer Nursing-Doctoral

Award: $15,000, Deadline: October 15

Applicant must show intent to develop clinical/research/teaching expertise, and a commitment to a career in cancer nursing. Research proposal as well as relevant personal and professional experience is required.

 

Delaware Nursing Incentive Scholarship Loan

Applicant must be a Delaware resident enrolled in a R.N., L.P.N. or A.P.N. program at a Delaware college or university.

Award provides money for research that will advance the practice of emergency nursing. Applicant must be a registered nurse, have a master's degree, and submit typewritten application form, biographical sketch, budget, research abstract and proposal, data about mentors/preceptors/consultants, support letters, and signed research agreement. Selection is based upon researcher qualifications and quality of research proposal. Preference is given to studies relating to the ENA/ENA Foundation Research Initiatives.
