Scholarships in Tennessee

International Student Scholarship

Award: $100, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a Hispanic student considered a non-resident of Arizona who has completed 12 or more College credits, with at least nine units in ESL. A 350- to 500-word letter stating reasons for deserving scholarship is required.

 

Bryan Opportunity Program

Award: -, Deadline: January 31

Applicant must be a Tennessee high school senior entering Bryan College as a first-time, full-time freshman in the fall of their graduation from high school. Applicant must be eligible for federal aid, have their FAFSA filed by January 31, and have a total family income equal to or less than $35,000.

 

Tennessee Aspire Award

Award: $1,500, Deadline: September 1 (fall semester); February 1 (spring/summer semesters)

Applicant must meet the minimum requirements of the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship and have an adjusted gross income of $36,000 or less on the tax form.

 

Tennessee HOPE Access Grant

Award: $11,000, Deadline: September 1 (fall semester); February 1 (spring/summer semesters)

Applicant must be an entering freshman with at least a 2.75-2.99 high school GPA, an 18-20 ACT (860-970 SAT) and have an adjusted income of $36,000 or less on the tax form.

 

Tennessee General Assembly Merit Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: September 1 (fall semester); February 1 (spring/summer semesters)

Applicant must be an entering freshman with a minimum 3.75 GPA and a minimum composite ACT score of 29 (SAT Reasoning score of 1280). Awarded to both two- and four-year school students. Supplement to the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship.

 

Tennessee Wilder-Naifeh Technical Skills Grant

Award: $2,000, Deadline: July 1 (summer); November 1 (fall); March 1 (winter and spring)

Applicant must be a Tennessee resident who has not been a prior Wilder-Naifeh or HOPE recipient.

 

Tennessee Foster Child Tuition Grant

Award: -, Deadline: September 1 (fall semester); February 1 (spring semester)

Applicant must be a foster child who has been in custody of the Tennessee Department of Children Services for at least one year after reaching 14 years of age; for at least one year after reaching age 14 and placed for adoption; or for at least one year after reaching age 14 and placed in permanent guardianship by the Tennessee Department of Children Services. Applicant must be eligible for the Tennessee HOPE Scholarship or HOPE Access Grant.

 

Tennessee Math and Science Teacher Loan Forgiveness Program

Award: $10,000, Deadline: September 1 (fall); February 1 (spring); May 1 (summer)

Applicant must be a tenured teacher teaching in a Tennessee public school system who is seeking an advanced degree in math or science or certification to teach the subject area of math or science. Recipient must agree to teach math or science in a Tennessee public school system for two academic years for each year funded by the program; must not have a break in enrollment for more than 12 months; program of study must be completed within five years. The award for all years of study must not exceed $10,000.

 

Tennessee Dual Enrollment Grant

Award: $1,200, Deadline: September 15 (fall semester); February 1 (spring semester); May 1 (summer semester)

Applicant must be a Tennessee high school junior or senior who has been admitted to an eligible Tennessee college or university for the purpose of dual enrollment. For an additional course per semester with a total semester amount not to exceed $600 ($1,200 per academic year), the student must meet the minimum HOPE Scholarship academic requirements at the time of dual enrollment.

 

Success Scholarship

Award: $3,100, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must not be a resident of Michigan. Minimum 3.2 GPA required.

 

Academic Community Enrichment Scholarship (ACE)

Award: $7,500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an out-of-state United States resident who satisfies at least two of the following criteria: ranks at least in the top 10% of their high school class; is a member of the National Honor Society; or has a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better. Applicants who do not meet that criteria, but possess significant leadership and involvement may also be considered.

 

Non-Resident Transfer Leadership Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a transfer student with a minimum 3.0 GPA who is not a resident of Utah, and has outstanding leadership abilities, activities, and achievements.

 

Non-Resident Transfer Diversity Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a transfer student who is not a resident of Utah. Application, recommendation, and online essay in which applicant illustrates their geographic, ethnic and/or cultural background, and how it will contribute to an educationally diverse experience for students at the University, are required to be submitted.

 

Non-Resident Merit Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an entering freshman who is not a resident of Utah, and is a National Merit Finalist.

 

Alumni Association Non-Resident Scholarship for Incoming Freshmen

Award: $5,800, Deadline: February 28

Applicant must be a current high school senior who is not a resident of Utah, but who's parent or grandparent is an University of Utah graduate. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA and have been actively involved in service to their high school and/or community. Official transcript, a one-page essay, and letter of recommendation are required to be submitted.

 

Academic Excellence Level 2 Scholarship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshmen who is not a resident of West Virginia.

 

University Merit - Non-Resident Scholarship

Award: $15,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a non-resident student who is named as a finalist by the National Merit Corporation and who designates West Virginia University as their school of first choice by the National Merit Corporation's deadline date.

 

Provost Scholarship

Award: $6,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a first-time, domestic, undergraduate degree-seeking student entering the university in the fall. Applicant must be a non-Michigan resident with a cumulative 3.0 GPA and an ACT composite score of 22 (combined SAT Reasoning score of 1020). Admission application file is required to be submitted.

 

Diversity & Multiculturalism Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a first-time, domestic, undergraduate degree-seeking student entering the university in the fall. Admission application file must be completed and applicant must be admissible to the university. Essay questions, participation in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy, and desire to add multiculturalism on campus are required.

 

Presidential Scholarship

Award: $8,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be a first-time, domestic, undergraduate degree-seeking student entering the university in the fall. Applicant must have a cumulative 3.5 GPA at the end of their junior year and a minimum composite ACT score of 25 (combined SAT Reasoning score of 1130). Applicants are automatically considered for award provided they apply to the university.

 

Neighboring States Scholarship

Award: -, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a high school senior from states contiguous to Missouri who have earned at least a 3.75 high school GPA and a minimum 30 ACT (or equivalent SAT critical reading and math).

 

Travel Scholarship

Award: $1,200, Deadline: None

Applicant must be a full-time, dependent student from the United States or Canada (excluding Minnesota and western Wisconsin).

 

Merit Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an incoming freshman student who will graduate high school on the United States mainland. Information provided on the admissions application, along with a high school transcript will determine criteria and eligibility of the award.

 

Out-of-State Tuition Waiver

Dean's Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be a non-resident freshmen student who has a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1150 (minimum composite ACT score of 25) and a GPA between 3.25 and 3.49.

 

Presidential Scholarship

Award: $9,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an entering non-resident freshman student who has a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1150 (minimum composite ACT score of 25) and minimum 3.75 GPA.

 

Provost's Scholarship

Award: $7,000, Deadline: February 1

Applicant must be an entering non-resident freshman student who has a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1150 (minimum composite ACT score of 25) and a high school GPA between 3.5 and 3.74.

 

Out of State Award

Award: $3,000, Deadline: May 1 (priority)

Applicant must be a United States resident who is living outside of New York State and who visits the college before January 31st of their senior year.

 

Jayhawk Generations Scholarship

Award: $12,154, Deadline: November 1

Applicant must be an admitted first-time, non-resident freshman student whose parent, step-parent, legal guardian, grandparent, step-grandparent, or great-grandparent earned a degree at the university. Minimum 3.5 GPA and combined SAT Reasoning score of 1090 (composite ACT score of 24) required.

 

Blazer Elite Scholarship

Award: $9,000, Deadline: December 1

Applicant must be a non-resident student. Selection is based upon academic achievement.
