Applicant must be an entering freshman with a 2.75 high school GPA with at least an 18 ACT/860 SAT on a national test date. Continuing college students with a 2.5 cumulative GPA may also apply.

Applicant must obtain application from the medical school authorities, complete it and return it to them for forwarding to the Foundation. Selection is based upon financial need, scholastic record and standing, demonstrated interest in arts and letters or other cultural pursuits outside the field of medicine, intention to specialize in neurology, psychiatry, or general practice, evidence of good moral character, and attendance at an accredited medical school located east of or contiguous to the Mississippi River.

At least one of the following criteria required: be part of an underrepresented ethnic population, be a first generation college student as indicated on the FAFSA, or be a resident of one of the following rural West Tennessee counties: Benton, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Dyer, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman,Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Henry, Lake, Lauderdale, Madison, McNairy, Obion, Tipton, or Weakly.
