Jack B. Weinberger Memorial Scholarship

Award: $400, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle, who exhibits financial need and will major in the field of health care. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

Edith Lois Wilson 4-H Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from District 1 Texas Associate of Extension Home Economists with at least three years of 4-H club work in District 1 and rank in the upper quarter of their graduating class. Applicant must major in the field of family and consumer science, home economics, or human science at a college or university within the state of Texas. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required while in college and community service and leadership must be demonstrated.

 

Fred Woodward Endowed Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a child of a dues paying member of the Texas Seed Trade Association or Seed Division of the Texas Department of Agriculture who is a graduating high school senior or college student. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

The XIT A&M Club John David Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Dallam, Hartley, or Sherman counties who exhibits community service and leadership, and will attend Texas A&M University. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

The XIT A&M Club Elwyn Dysart - Walter Lasley Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Dallam, Hartley, or Sherman counties who exhibits community service and leadership and will attend Texas A&M University. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

The Jack & Rita Allen Endowed Scholarship Fund for Frank Phillips College Allen Campus

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Hansford, Libscomb, Ochiltree or Roberts Counties in Texas, who will attend Frank Phillips College Allen campus (may attend the Borger campus if required courses are not available at the Allen campus). Preference given to nursing majors. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

The Max and Dorothy Baggerly Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Beaver and Texas counties in Oklahoma and Hansford and Ochiltree counties in Texas (including Beaver residents who may be attending schools located in adjoining counties due to population restrictions). Applicant must exhibit character and leadership qualities. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

Marjorie Urban Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior residing in Hansford, Lipscomb, or Ochiltree counties in Texas, who exhibits community service and leadership and will major in music or religion. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

The Malouf and Iris Abraham Scholarship Assistance Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be graduating senior residing in Gray, Hemphill, Lipscomb, Ochiltree, Roberts or Wheeler counties in Texas who exhibits character, leadership and financial need. Applicant must major in agriculture at Clarendon College, Oklahoma Panhandle State University, West Texas A&M University, or Texas Tech University; human science at Texas Tech University; or any field of study at Frank Phillips College or Amarillo College. Minimum "80" average in high school (2.5 GPA in college) required.

 

Nora Richardson Dodd Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from Perryton High School who exhibits community service and leadership, and will major in business at a college/university in the state of Texas. Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA required.

 

Sammye Lee Seabourn Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund

Award: $750, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from West Texas High School who will attend Amarillo College, Frank Phillips College, West Texas A&M University, or Texas Tech University. Preference given to applicants who plan to major in the field of education. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Firefighter Brian Hunton Memorial Scholarship Fund

Award: $500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior who is a child of firefighters who are members of the fire departments of the City of Amarillo, Potter County, or Randall County, and exhibit community service, leadership, and financial need. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

The Lamar P.T.A. Gaylia Cochran Scholarship Fund

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from the Amarillo Independent School District who attended Lamar Elementary School for a minimum of three years, and has taken the ACT and/or SAT prior to application. Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required while in college.

 

Panhandle Groundwater Conservation District Scholarship

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating senior from the Panhandle Groundwater Conservation District (Armstrong, Carson, Donley, Gray, Potter, Roberts, and Wheeler Counties). Essay and minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA required.

 

Janet Sue Scivally Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a graduating female senior from Tascosa High School who is currently working, and will continue to work while attending a college in the state of Texas. Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA required while in college. Selection based on financial need, record of scholarship, accomplishments, and occupational experience.

 

Texas Association Scholarships

Award: $2,000, Deadline: December 4

Applicant must be a Texas resident enrolled in an accredited occupational therapy program in Texas at the professional, associate or certificate level. Applicant must also be a member of the Texas Occupational Therapy Association.

 

APIASF/Sara Lee Foundation

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 13

Applicant must be a female U.S. citizen, national or legal permanent resident of Asian and/or Pacific Islander ethnicity (as defined by the U.S. Census) who is from Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, or Wisconsin, and will be enrolling in an accredited college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in the upcoming academic year. Minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA required (or GED).

 

Dr. Don and Rose Marie Benton Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 3

Applicant must be affiliated with Trinity River Mission in Dallas, TX and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in a regionally accredited college or university.

 

The Dallas Morning News Journalism Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: April 27

Applicant must be a United States citizen or legal, permanent resident who is a graduating senior of a North Texas high school with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must show a demonstrated aptitude for print journalism and plan to pursue a four-year degree in journalism.

 

Deserving Student Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: April 29

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or student who plans to enroll in, or is already enrolled in, an undergraduate or graduate program of study in a regionally accredited community college, college, university, or vocational or technical institute. Minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstration of financial need, and essay required.

 

Joe Hornsby III Scholarship

Award: $2,000, Deadline: April 6

Applicant must be a graduating senior of a high school in Mesquite Independent School District who is planning to attend or be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited college, university or technical training program.

 

Dr. Dan J. and Patricia S. Pickard Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 6

Applicant must be an African-American male student who is graduating from a high school in Dallas County. Financial need is required.

 

Tomy Tranchin Award

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 6

Applicant must be a high school student in North Texas with a physical, emotional, or intellectual disability.

 

Whitley Place Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: March 31

Applicant must be a graduating senior of a high school in Prosper Independent School District who has applied to and plans to attend an accredited college or university. Applicant must plan to pursue studies in the area of civil engineering, construction science, construction management, architecture, landscape architecture, planning, public administration, mechanical engineering or other math/science related fields.

 

Alejandro 'Alex' Abecia Reaching High

Award: $100, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a senior member of the Mary Carroll High School Band or graduating senior member of the Mary Carroll High School soccer team. Applicant must be a member of the A/B Honor roll and have taken an honors class in high school. Minimum 12 hour courseload required to be taken per semester.

 

Beverly Acock Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Nueces County who is in the top quarter of their high school class. Applicant must be planning to enroll in a minimum of 12 semester hours at an accredited college or university in the United States/

 

Martin Allen Scholarship

Award: $200, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior of a Coastal Bend high school or a college student who attended a Coastal Bend high school. Applicant must be majoring in music; preference will be given to students majoring in jazz. Applicant must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and course load of at least 12 college credits per semester.

 

Zachary Barriger Memorial Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a senior at Tuloso-Midway High School who plans to attend an accredited two- or four-year college in Texas and have an interest in pursuing studies in the fields of engineering or medicine.

 

Beecroft Family Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior or current college student in Nueces of San Patricio Counties with a minimum 2.0 GPA. Applicant must plan to attend or be currently attending Del Mar College or Texas A&M University - Corpus Christie and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 semester hours.

 

Reverend E.F. Bennett Scholarship

Award: $300, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a graduating senior from a Coastal Bend high school who is in the top 10 percent of their graduating class. Applicant must plan to attend Del Mar College, Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, or Texas A&M University - Kingsville. Financial need is required.
