Scholarships in Health Services Management

Virginia Valk Fehsenfeld Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: April 1

Applicant must be a resident of Kent County, Mich., have a minimum 3.4 GPA. Selection is based upon academic achievement, extracurricular activities, personal statement, and financial need.

 

Burlington Northern Santa Fe Foundation Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: April 15

Applicant must be a Native American with proof of tribal enrollment or a certificate of Indian blood, plan to attend a four-year, accredited educational institution full time, and live in one of the states served by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Pacific Corp. and its affiliated companies.

 

Harry J. Harwick Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: June 1

Applicant must submit a letter stating career goals and objectives, a resume showing employment history with a brief narrative describing specific employment responsibilities in the health care field, and three letters of recommendation. Applicant must attend an ACEHSA or AUPHA-accredited school. Reference letters should address performance, character, potential to succeed, and need for scholarship support. Past President's Parley Scholarship Assistance in Health Care Occupations

Award: $400, Deadline: May 15

Applicant must be enrolled in a health care occupations program, be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Arizona for at least one year, and attending an accredited Arizona school. Preference is given to an immediate family member of a veteran. Photograph, statement giving reasons for choosing a career in health care, three letters of reference, and transcripts are required to be submitted. Selection is based upon character, scholarship, financial need, and initiative.

 

Upward Bound Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a R.N., L.P.N., or C.N.A., be a member of or be sponsored by a member of NADONA/LTC, and be employed in Long Term Care with plans to remain employed in Long Term Care for at least years after graduation. Applicant must submit an essay of at least 100 words describing why they are seeking the degree.

 

Richard L. Davis UNC Scholarship

Award: $1,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must enroll in the Graduate Sch of Public Health. A letter stating career goals and objectives, resume showing employment history with a brief narrative describing specific employment responsibility in the health care field, and three letters of recommendation are required to be submitted. Reference letters should address performance, character, potential to succeed, and need for scholarship support.

 

Robert G. Shouldice Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: June 1

MGMA Midwest Section Scholarship

Constance L. Lloyd/ACMPE Scholarship

Applicant must be a woman enrolled at an accredited college or university in Georgia. Applicant must submit a letter stating career goals and objectives, a resume showing employment history with a brief narrative describing specific employment responsibilities in health care field, and three letters of recommendation. M. Brenn Green Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: March 1

Applicant must be a first-time freshman who is majoring in one of the following areas: anthropology, criminal justice, economics, geography, health administration, political science, social psychology, social work, or sociology.

 

Willard H. Erwin Jr. Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident enrolled full or part time at a state-operated college or university in West Virginia, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate good moral character, and demonstrate financial need. Preference given to applicants pursuing degrees in business or some phase of health care finance.

 

Richard C. Flint Scholarship

Award: $3,000, Deadline: January 15

Applicant must be a West Virginia resident enrolled full time, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, and demonstrate good moral character.

 

Health Research Training Program

Award: -, Deadline: March 15

Applicant must be a New York City resident who is attending a metropolitan New York City school. The program offers internships in public health research, community outreach and education, fieldwork, laboratory work and administration to all college undergraduates, graduate, and professional school students.

 

Leaders Scholarship

Award: $5,000, Deadline: May 1

Applicant must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program relevant to medical practice management, including public health, business administration, health care administration and other related areas.

 

Patricia Collins Amaral Memorial Fund

Award: $600, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be a senior who has a minimum 3.0 GPA and who has demonstrated the finest qualities of leadership through participation in campus organizations and has rendered service of significant benefit to the campus community.

 

Alumni Association Scholarship

Applicant must demonstrate community leadership and have met the award criteria established by the Alumni Association's Scholarship Committee. Applicant must have completed 12 credits last semester and 24 credits at Bridgewater State College as of December 31. Applicants who have transferred from Massachusetts Community Colleges, Dean College, or Quincy College are eligible to apply.

 

James McDaniel Family Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: None

Applicant must enroll in at least 15 credit hours per semester.

 

Finck Family Charitable Fund Scholarship

Award: $500, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or community college student in Ventura County with a 3.0 GPA, who is intending to enroll for a degree in education, health-related studies, or social services at an accredited college, university, or vocational school.

 

Cora Aguda Manayan Fund

Award: $5,000, Deadline: February 19

Applicant must be majoring in a health-related field and be of Filipino ancestry. Preference may be given to applicants studying in Hawaii.
