California Mathematics Council - South Scholarship

Applicant must be a Southern California resident and a member of California Mathematics Council - South. Application, college transcripts, and letters of recommendation are required to be submitted.

 

Donald and Shirley Hastings Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: February 15

Applicant must be majoring in a welding engineering discipline and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference given to applicants residing or attending school in Iowa, Ohio, or California. Financial need required.

 

Vicky Howard Community Service Award

Award: $500, Deadline: Varies

Applicant must be a resident of Ventura County, CA, and show high dedication to community service with a lot of volunteer activities. Graduating high school senior from the cities of Simi Valley or Moorpark.

 

Joyce M. Kennedy, Ph.D. Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: January 11

Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, reside in Ventura County, CA and attend CSUCI.

 

Parker M. and Virginia Howell Scholarship

Award: $800, Deadline: January 29

Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, major in engineering or writing, and be graduating from a high school in San Buenaventura, CA, or attending Ventura Community College.

 

Roy A. Gustafson Memorial Scholarship

Applicant must be a Ventura County resident who graduated from a public or private high school in Ventura County and who has successfully completed the first year of law school at an accredited college or university in the state of California.

 

Calavo Scholarship

Award: $1,000, Deadline: Varies

Awarded to students majoring in Agriculture at an accredited college or university. Applicant must be related or married to a member of Calvo Growers of California.

 

Community and Folk Arts Scholarship

Applicant must have graduated from a Ventura County high school, be enrolled at an accredited college or university, and demonstrate an interest in the arts.

 

Jimmy Lyons Scholarship

Applicant must be a California student who demonstrates outstanding musical talent. Selection is based on audition tape and then live audition if selected to continue in the process.

 

Back to School Nursing Scholarship

Award: $2,500, Deadline: January 31; April 30; July 31; October 31

Applicant must be a legal resident of the United States who is at least 18 years of age or older at the time of registration and who plans to enroll in a previously unattended institution in the United States (award not open to residents in Florida, New York, Rhode Island or other states/territories). Applicant must be a nursing student. Response to why the applicant decided to pursue a nursing career is required.

 

The Sambar Scholarship Endowment

Applicant must be a graduating senior from the Glendale Unified School District who will attend an accredited post-secondary institution. Financial need must be demonstrated.

 

Scholarship for Minority Students in Memory of Edna Yelland

Applicant must be a minority student pursuing a Master of Library Science degree at an accredited California library school, be a California resident, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, attend an interview, and demonstrate financial need.

 

Assumption Program of Loans for Education (APLE)

Applicant must be a California resident, intending to become a college or university faculty member, after pursuing an advanced degree at an eligible California graduate or professional school. Applicant is ranked competitively according to undergraduate grades, test scores, and consideration of a disadvantaged background, and must take the graduate/professional school exam appropriate to area of specialization. Selection is based upon financial need, academic ability, and state manpower needs.

 

Beau Mitchell Memorial Scholarship

Award: $1,300, Deadline: March 1

Applicant should preferably be a non-resident student who is a former member of the Boy Scouts of America with strong moral character and an orientation toward the outdoors. Financial need required.

 

Nonresident Incentive Tuition Waiver

Award: $4,000, Deadline: February 1 (priority)

Applicant must be a nonresident of Oklahoma, have high GPA and ACT scores, and be the child or grandchild of OSU alumni/ae.

 

Cal Grant A

Award: $9,708, Deadline: March 2

Applicant must be a California resident attending a California educational institution, demonstrate financial need, and have satisfactory academic qualifications. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

 

Cal Grant B

Applicant must be a California resident attending a California educational institution. Applicant must have a minimum 2.0 GPA. Selection is based upon financial need and academic qualifications; disadvantaged background increases likelihood of receiving award.

 

Cal Grant C

Applicant must be a California resident pursuing a vocationally-oriented course of study at a two-year community college, two-year program within a college, or vocational school in California. Selection is based upon financial need, academic qualifications, and aptitude, interest, and experience in chosen vocational field.

 

College Fee Waiver

Applicant must be a California resident who is planning to attend a California public community college or university, and who is the child of a veteran who has a service-connected disability or who died a service-related death. Annual income, including support from parents, cannot exceed $8,480.

 

Sun Devil Scholarship

Applicant must be a high school senior enrolling for the fall semester as a full-time student. Applicant will be automatically considered for the award once they have been admitted to the university.

Amigo Scholarship

Applicant must have a minimum 3.5 high school GPA with minimum composite ACT score of 23 (combined SAT Reasoning score of 1070) or have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA with a minimum composite ACT score of 26 (combined SAT Reasoning score of 1170). Applicant must not be from New Mexico.

 

Reference Service Press Fellowship

Applicant must be accepted into an accredited Master of Library Science program, be a California resident attending school in any state or a resident of any state attending school in California, be preparing for a career in reference or information science, and agree to take at least three classes specifically dealing with reference or information science.

 

Alumni Scholarship

Freshman applicant must graduate from a California high school with a minimum 3.85 GPA and a minimum combined SAT I score of 1200. Transfer applicant must have at least 84 transferable quarter units from a California community college and have a minimum 3.5 GPA.

 

Law Enforcement Dependent Grant

Applicant must be a dependent or spouse of a California peace officer, Department of Corrections employee, Youth Authority employee, or full-time firefighter who has been killed or totally disabled in the line of duty.

 

UA Scholar
